I don't think that I've ever read unconditional love described so accurately, not of course to claim that I know what it is exactly. Your first stanza almost says it all, but the words that follow only reinforce the wisdom and thought related here. I wonder how many of us are capable of this "A matter of the soul." It really gets you to thinking and I think that is what poetry is all about. I also love "...by integrity's drive." A very appropriate picture, too, or I guess painting would be more accurate.

There was another stanza I loved, but then I had to quote this as my fav...
"Character reached
by integrity's drive
offers humility's grip
For strength
to last a lifetime
And a legacy
to be followed"
