When will it end? Your rondeau is awesome in construction & message. Your refrain fits in nicely. Your lines flow smoothly with great imagery, although a lot of it is sad. You are right. The soldiers 'in the trenches' are used like pawns in the 'game' of war. Who wins? No one really. But the soldiers definitely lose. Those pompous fools who sit in their ivory towers know nothing of the horrors of war.
I commend you for writing such an emotional, and true, rondeau. Your work is amazing. Jan

Thanks for sharing another of your fine poems. If this one doesn't touch a person's heart with appreciation for our soldiers, and spurn the reasoning of the governments and extremists who wage and teach war, then those people need to be sentence to the battlefield. Great job! :-)

Brilliant. I suspect my words were not taken with the genuine acknowledgement of one soldier to another, but that doesn't matter. This was an outstanding piece of work and I hope people recognize the passion of an incredible poet.

You do an amazing job in describing war's horrors. I like the way you take things like the grand justice of the cause and use them as mere cloaks to strip away all the perception of the grand old cause. Nice job.
