I have yet to enter a challenge of any sort thus far. I am having trouble just reading and writing reviews.
So... I congratulate you on this beautiful piece!
Your poem made me think of the way I see things and it reminded me that God doesn't see things as such; He sees me.
A lesson I came away with is not to dwell on the negative or be critical of things but to abide in the beautiful 'moment' God has provided just for me.
With that, "...He has set me free."

Interesting meter to this poem, a hodge podge of mixed iambs and anapests, but it all works wonderfully well and reads smooth as silk when the poem is read aloud.
It's a wonderfully spiritual take on the photo provided to the 'Picture This!" Photo Challenge Group.
Well done, Lance...

G'day Lance. Lovely stuff, mate. Very nicely written and a wonderful little take on the challenge picture. It's always very interesting to read how people see each picture.
Great work.

I really like that you focused on the reflective nature of the
mirror-like river. I too was taken by the possibilities that lie
there. But I never did find a way to connect with it!
You, on the other hand have truly taken that aspect to heart
in the writing of his poem :-)
Nicely done :-)

This poem has a profound spiritual message. We cannot look upon the face of God so instead we see Him in a reflected way just as the speaker in this poem sees Him in reflections. The essence of this spiritual message is faith that in the reflections through which we glimpse God He is always with us.
