This is an entertaining entry in this

Well rhymed stanzas the critique
each style the lady chooses.
good luck in the contest.

I tend to agree with the conclusion of this poem. I was always tols that a woman's crowning glory was her hair. Why cover that beautiful, natural substance with a bloody hat? Pardon my language.
Your poem say it so well and the example in the artwork shows a face completely outclassed by the beauty of the rose - the rose not the hat.

Thank you! Yes, a hat does not always add to the total effect. I appreciate your comments.

Oh dear I had no idea that there was so much innuendo attached to selecting a hat. Sounds like it's probably easier to just go bare topped. That said I usually feel this predicament when picking what socks to wear haha. Fun piece.

As someone who can't wear hats, I found a connection with the poem and enjoyed the strong rhyme and the very effective description of both each hat and each reaction. It's a fun, light-hearted read.

Very nice hat poem. I loved the reference to the evolving of the different types of hats and how they related to a time in history. Well chosen words, and a little on the humorous side. I liked it. Especially the end, where the baseball cap won.

This is a really good poem and a GREAT entry in the contest. The rhyming is good although not a hundred percent consistent, but despite that the poem flows nicely with a consistent syllable count. You put together a very creative and clever poem here. Best of luck in the contest. Keep up the great work.

They just don't suit me at all. I hated having to wear one to my son's wedding. This poem brought about a chuckle from me, how many times I've done that and come away without one. This is a good contest entry, well done and good luck! xsx Sandra

A hat doesn't make the woman, but the woman can make a hat...heh-heh-heh.
This is an excellent contest entry, Cynthia. The rhyming is perfect, the rhythm, cadence and flow are well constructed, and the poem reads very smoothly when read aloud.
Best of luck in the voting.

A very well-written poem. A hat with a beautiful dress is always a winner when the right choice is made. NS we still wear hats to our church, and we all feel wonderfully dressed.
