Beyond being a flawless Pantoum, this poem prompts the question of why the parting is occurring. Perhaps the speaker is terminally ill, or is a soldier who has been notified of deployment to a war zone. In any case, the reader senses both love and anguish in these words. The dew- or tear-covered innocent white rose, possibly about to drown in oily murkiness, is indeed the perfect illustration of how the one spoken to must feel. Superb.

Wal;kerman, thank you so much for your kind and generous six star review. You have made my day. Your observations and comments are much appreciated. Warmest regards, :o)

You are welcome. My criteria for a six are flawless execution of the form used (including rhyme and meter when required), essentially no typos or other errors, smooth flow for good readability, a thoughtful or thought-provoking theme, and an effective emotional tug when the theme warrants it. An appropriate illustration well supportive of the theme also helps (though, in some cases, absence of an image is a wise choice too.) Your poem succeeded on all counts. -- Mike

A number of entries in this contest have managed to muck up the line order in the last stanza, or other elements of this rather tricky form, so I am pleased to report that everything seems fine with your piece!
You present a very poignant poem. The man is presumably dying, rather than abandoning his much-loved wife. The repeated lines emphasise just how much her love has meant to him, and how much he loves her in return.
Should be a strong contender in the contest. Good luck.

Well written poem that depicts he understand just how special his "Rose" has been throughout the course of his life and now all he wants to do is be with her without requiring anything else in return.
