This really hit my heart. Thank you. We have two adopted daughters
as well as three other children. We lost one of them for nearly six
months and only her older sister insisted that she would return and
not to change her room. We agreed and she did return. If you read
my poem about Squish you will see her daughter, our granddaughter.
God is good. -Bill

Thank you Bill, for the nice review. I read your poem and shared it with my grandson who will be a new father in about 15 weeks. He loved the poem

Dear Patricia,
What a wonderful story you have shared with us, with me. I felt as if you and I were sitting and talking and you were telling me your life. Yes, you did the right thing 'choosing' life.
Bob appears to have kept up his 'growth', he is a fine looking man and looks like he would be a sweet and gentle soul. You gave him more of yourself than you probably realize.
Love you and thank you for sharing.
Carolyn

Thank you Carolyn, for the nice review. He is a gentle man and he does look a lot like me. His arms and legs are shaped like mine. Are you aware that I was raped after being given a drink that was drugged? I do not remember the rape at all. My family wanted me to abort him.

I don't recall reading that but I may have, there have been several stories about rape. I am so sorry but, you are to be commended for the way you chose to handle the terrible situation. You did the right thing in the face of terror. :-) Carolyn

Such a touching story. I wonder if they follow those same procedures for mothers who are giving their baby up for adoption. An interesting detail about the couple who was originally planning to adopt the baby changed their minds when they found out his size. I can't imagine what that would have had to do with anything. (I weighed 9 pounds too.) You're so fortunate that things turned out well when you finally located your son. I think it's a good thing that it's possible to locate a birth mother. Sometimes it can be very important to know. You were fortunate to find an understanding husband. judi

Thanks for the nice review. They no longer treat the mothers like I was treated those many years ago.
I don't understand why a baby would be too large other than the prospective adoptive parents may have playing games saying the woman was pregnant and would disappear for a few days and come home with a small baby.
I indeed was most blessed to find a wonderful man for a husband and father to our children.

I remember reading the story before. It's nice that your son came to see you. It must have been a real surprise to see him at the door.

Thank you for the nice review.
I don't think I had written before about the deliver room experience. Other parts of the story I have told in different writings.

I think I read it in your book. I remember the towel and the arms tied. I was shocked that hospitals would do that. I can't imagine how awful that was.

Hi there,

It may be a good idea to separate the paragraphs out with clear lines between each one. it makes the read easier.

It is quite shocking to see how cold the procedure was for giving birth under those circumstances.

A very well written and affecting piece of writing.

Thank you for an excellent review, GMG. It was a rather cold way of doing things, but it is not done that way today.

Hi Patricia,

You had written a story somewhat like this before, but this is longer and more interesting. The picture of your son Bob is very nice. He's very good looking.
I guess the people didn't keep the name Dwight Douglas.

I'm so happy that Bob came to visit you and have become good friends now.

Patricia,
I commend you for sharing your personal story. You are a brave, strong woman with God on your side. He found the second family for your son to live with after the first refused. He allowed you to finally find & reunite with him.

I like the varying text colors. You told your story well. Thank you. Jan

the tears came freely reading of the story and the love all around. God's timing is perfect and in this case with the different adoption, it was in God's hands.
Excellently written.
