I appreciate the different take expressed here, rather than just using words to describe arrogance, you told a story. Very unique and well written.

Nice well written acrostic poem. The message of not taking the ocean for granted is well received. The picture looks mysterious, just as any body of water that holds the unknown. The poem has a good flow, good luck with the contest.

To help with the judges, I suggest two changes. Rearly is more often spelled rarely, and in the last line I'd consider "Every sail is a challenge, so go if you dare." Hope I'm not coming across as arrogant. Fine acrostic.

Amen. The ocean can turn on a dime. I live on one of the barrier island off of North Carolina, and I have seen the ocean's playful side and it's fury. Good strong acrostic. Not sure if rearly should be rarely. Great poem. Good luck in the contest. Gretchen

What a great perspective to write from. What great advice also. Check your second line: Do you mean Rarely instead of Rearly? Very nice job. Best of luck in the contest.

Hi Poet,
That's a lovely photo that you have taken from your boat.
You have an interesting take on this arrogance writing
prompt...it's quite creative.
It's true, when sailing you are at the mercy of the weather
and water. I like how you have included some rhyme in
this as well as nice imagery.
In the following line, did you mean rarely?
"(Rearly) have I seen such a beautiful morn'. "
Best wishes,
Linda
