This is another great tribute poem among many I have read and reviewed today. I love how you reprised and revised his Purple Rain song, incorporating the titles of many of his best-loved songs. I particularly love this passage:

"We never ever wanted to discover
This hole that even time will never mend
Our farewell just became forever
When the angels swooped in to descend."

This poem is well-rhymed, creative, and heart felt. Thank you for sharing your tribute Princely Poem Prompt.

Hi Jax!

He was quite innovative in his style. I was an 80's teen, and that is when he really hit it big with Purple Rain... he had amazing talent. Something of a little known fact is that he wrote a lot of hit songs that weren't "his" songs... for other artists, and worked to help launch the careers of several artists, too.

That is the stipulation of the contest, to use as many of his titles as possible. I managed 44 lol He had so many albums, I think I barely scratched the surface. Thank you for a great review. I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment.
