Excellent.
Your rhyming is really good - sophisticated. You followed the rules of A Villanelle perfectly.
I like the sprinkling throughout the poem of "Fickle muse, Hope's a lady in disguise", and "Impassioned, she will tease and tantalize."
Well done and good luck.

I love the villanelle form, and love how you use it in this poem. The choice of the art work is perfect, evoking the carnival atmosphere of the poetry, so you get the feeling that you are caught up in the emotions of the scene, obsessed with momentary glimpses of an elusive mysterious woman named "Hope." This is a villanelle which nearly approaches a pantoum in its haunting effect. Skillfully done!

This is a very well written poem and nicely expresses your thoughts of hope,
even though I have a very different view of hope. The repetitive verse ties things nicely together.

I'm not at all familiar with the Villanelle format, although I have read "Do not go Gentle into that Good Night", by Dylan Thomas.
Based on your extensive and informative author's notes, and what I surmised in reading your version of the Villanelle form, you seem to have complied perfectly to the restrictions and adhered to the structure this form implements.
Well done, and I wish you the very best of luck in the voting.
