Devising a palindrome seems to require a lot of thought. I applaud your labors in creating this interesting bit of writing, and I enjoyed the notes.

Comment from Gloria ....
This is a wonderful palindrome, Kim and in combination with the artwork a lovely reflection of the soul in symmetry.
I am really enjoying your variety of poetic forms for your NaPoWriMo book and best wishes to you in the contest.
This is a good one.

HI, Kim,
I've never heard of this poetic form, so I'm not qualified to say anything about it except it appears you're in compliance with the contest rules.
The poem itself is most introspective and reflective. I liked that. I did like the word play with reflection in symmetry / symmetry in reflection.
Well done, and good luck to you in the contest.

Hi Ray,
I've been having fun experimenting with different styles in my book for NaPoWriMo this month. I've written just a few palindromes, primarily as contest pieces. That is how I learned of them here at FanStory. If you'd like to see more examples, shadowpoetry.com has a couple listed in their Poetry Types section.
Thank you for taking the time to read and review. I appreciate your generous comments.

this is new to me could you please clear something up for me. The authors notes used letters in reverse and you used words. Are the both considered mirror pieces? Yours seems more mirror than the reverse words.

Hi Barb,
The true Palindrome originated as the words in sentences being reversed forward and backward. When it is done as a poem, as I have, they call it a word unit Palindrome. I think it would be fairly impossible to write an actual poem with anything that resembled making sense without doing it as an actual word unit. A lot of the palindrome sentences have some nonsensical or off the wall content. You can see by the examples that palindromes have been around for hundreds of years, but I couldn't find any actual famous poetry out of them, though I did include links to the bios of two poets who are credited with a couple of the examples I posted.
Thanks for taking the time to read and review :)

Thank you so much for taking time to answer my question. I hate to bother people . I know I can look it up on the internet but that does not give me answers in lay persons terms.

No worries :) I'm always happy to answer questions where I can. Did I mention that you can also see other examples in the Poetry Types section at shadowpoetry.com? I love to use that site as a resource.

This is not the first time you leave me speechless with a palindrome! I don't know how you do it, but it's perfect! Incredible imagery, and it's smooth as butter back and forth!

Hi Jyoti!
This one got started in my head in the shower this morning! I think I needed the mirror for inspiration lol I seem to get all my best ideas with water cascading down on my head... and James doesn't understand why I like to take long showers! lol I'd live in there if my paper and computer could withstand the water! ;)
Thank you for this enthusiastic review. I appreciate all of your generous comments.

WOW! Me too! By now, I take my laptop to the bathroom, which took a bit of explaining to my husband! :)
I often take a shower right before coming up with my closing couplets to harvest that shower-inspiration! :)

Your examples of palindromes show humor. The one you have written is beautiful. The montage fits the poem perfectly. Good luck in the Palindrome Poetry Contest. I hope I see a winner.

Oh my, this is a beautiful poem! It's a form I've never tried, and seems very challenging, but you've made it look easy enough that I might try it someday! I thank you for sharing the notes you have, as should I give it a go, these will help, as will your gorgeous jewel!

This is beautiful and so cleverly put together. Everything about it is palindromic. Upside down and inside out. You have chosen the word route rather than the letters and of course the reflection is in itself a palindrome. Masterful

Thank you, Pantygynt,
Keep up with reviews like these and I'll never stop smiling ;) I'm happy you enjoyed my effort with the palindrome. I've sat down to write one of these several times with the intention of entering the contest, but to no avail. This one started writing itself in my head when I was in the shower lol I guess I needed the mirror for inspiration this morning. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. Your thoughts are always appreciated.

Wow Kim, This is terrific. I must've been keeping my last six for you. This is a gem and I hope you do well in the contest. It reads so well and makes more sense the more you read it. Each line so well polished but 'entrance Soul's inward glance' is perhaps my favourite x
