This is such a poignant poem, Christine. I really do believe that our loved ones visit us when in spirit. There are usually signs if one is sensitive and looks for them. Hugs, Lou

Hello Chrissy710,

A beautiful memory and tribute to your dad. Of special note:

And so today we will unite
And think of you and your big smile,
Remember you and for a while
Feel you so close and hold you tight.

(Dear Chrissy, Your memory, his strength, and his smile will see you through all the days of your life. Your dad is with you, and he'll always be.)

A poem of remembrance.

Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

An 'in memoriam' sixteen liner with an enveloping rhyme scheme (abba, cddc, etc.). This keeps it well clear of any hint of the banality that can sometimes accompany iambic tetrameters in rhyming couplets or other more conventional rhyme scheme. It flows beautifully, a pleasing tribute.

I felt the love for your Dad. I feel your pain. I have lost both parents and my favourite brother died last year.

I really enjoyed the rhyming pattern and thus the reason for 6 stars

Well done and good luck

Christine, this is such a beautiful poem. I can feel you missing him in the poem but you are right, he is with you watching on with his smile. It is such a lovely thing to have all of his poems. All those treasured and creative thoughts from your father. Certainly something to cherish. No wonder you are such an accomplished poet. Thank you for sharing this loving poem. ~DD

-Very nice image.
-Thank you for sharing your author notes.
-What a wonderful thing to do as a tribute to your dad.
-When we lose a loved one we are close to, I think we always feel that, but I also believe they are there still supporting us every day.
-Lovely poem that I am sure he would be proud of:
"And in our hearts you'll always dwell.
We think of you with fond recall"
