We as humans always need more possessions to make us happy or at least that is what we think. All the possessions on earth can't buy happiness.

You make me feel guilty for having a coin collection lol! It is true, though. I have far too much junk and I'm working on getting rid of it slowly.

Your message reached me in a positive way. Best wishes in this contest!

I can change the picture if you like Joy - I think a coin collection isn't so bad haha

    Much appreciated - Craig

I love this poem. It did give me the giggles. I am forever telling my daughter about the difference between needing something and wanting something lol. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the lovely review, dmt1967, and for the wonderful shiny stars!

If your daughter manages to get that sorted out, she'll be ahead of most adults, I think :)

    Much appreciated! Craig

Great message in this little poem, Craig. Wealth, cars, our homes...no matter how much we have or how elaborate our possessions might be, we are only "borrowing" them for a short time. After all, we can't take it with us when we leave here for good.
What we CAN take away from here is all of the fond memories of family, friends and those we loved.
Those are the "things" that truly matter.

Great three-liner.
best of luck to you in the contest...
~Dean

Craig,

You've hit on a real truth here with a creative flair
and wisdom. Man seems to like to buy, collect
and worship things. Of course, some of them
are needed, yet we can't take all the things with us...

Americans are especially bad at trying to fill inner
needs with things...That "insatiable" appetite
just never seems to be satisfied.

You did a great job in conveying your message
with so few words. Great presentation as well.

Linda

    Thanks Linda!

In part it was inspired by the fact that I desperately need to de-clutter. There is so much accumulated stuff from over the years here - I need to hire a huge skip (dumpster), or two, or three, and just start tossing things.

But yes, it definitely was meant to convey all of what you said above.

Thanks for the lovely review :)

    Good luck with that.
If it's a life time of stuff
    it will take awhile.

    I'm an expert at de-cluttering...:)
