Wow. Life is fraught with much danger ... The powerful encounterd by the gentle innocence confronts the crisis and can be tamed, at least for a moment.
I like how you bring the thoughts full circle and end as you began with the rustling wind.
The picture is amazing.

Comment from Gloria ....
What a gentle as a bear wind post, Michael. I am taking it this is your contribution to the Potlatch. May we add your name to list of wonderful participants?
I love everything about this post and your opening is a brilliant lead in to a thunderous prophecy.
Paints by numbers is a perfect way to describe the human condition.
Well, well done my friend. This is gem all cut and polished. :))

Hi Michael,
I really liked your analogy of the wind. These stanzas are especially thought provoking and I loved how they tie in to that perfect picture you chose for illustration:
soft spoken unexpected...
rustles the wind breathless
gentle as babies reach
to stroke bear dangerous
comfort in genuine care for grizzly
hushes growling fear
Your allusion to the Syrian refugee crisis adds a whole new level of depth. This is an excellent free verse poem. Thanks for including the grizzly :)
