I haven't seen you here for awhile, but you're back with a bang :)
I like Erin, I think the two of us would get along. I enjoyed her "Physics Teacher" approach to speaking with her two friends.
"Erin didn't bother to remark either on God's hit-or-miss approach to punishment" - funny, yeah it's pretty hit and miss when you think about it! Too bad so many people don't...
"I will pray that God will remove the hardness of your heart, and that you will be saved from an eternity of damnation in the fires of hell," Ian said, quite sincerely, to Erin.- Lol, well she took that well :)

Thanks, Carol. It's great to be back. I decided to take a weekend off, and had to make the most of it!
I thought this contest looked like fun, though last time I looked, there was only one entry haha.

Hi CDR, was this prompted by the conversation of good and evil in the forum? It was an excellent summary of how I interpreted the discussion to end up. The rational atheist uses her mind to analyze the contradictions in religious practice and teachings, and the believer cherry picks and contextualizes the damning evidence from the holy book. It's all too familiar. I liked that you turned the tables on the believer and cut the conversation short with a good luck in hellfire ending. If anything, both sides were strengthened in their previous convictions.

Hi Catch-22! It was in a way prompted by that, but when I see a competition like this, it usually makes me want to participate -just for the practice. I hope not to be the only entrant in the competition. (Hint: You should join!)
Isn't it always the way? No one is ever convinced by arguments either way - other than the arguments we have inside our own head.
