No snakes here in kiwiland, of course, but we have spent 8 years in Singapore and 12 years in Queensland so have had our share of snake encounters during that time, most notably a five-metre python in our condo carden in Singapore...
Your poem reminds me a little of this one 'A Snake Yarn' - I thought it was Banjo Patterson, but no, a different poet altogether. Funny, though!

Hi Steve, You are lucky not to have any on NZ, We have heaps here in Victoria amd they are particulaly busy this year and have heard of several being spotted locally Hence the new sign. yes we have friends in QLD and they see a few too. Don't know about the python. though . I am glad your like the rhyme and I think I remember reading Banjo's poem about the snake I must revisit it Cheers Christine😀

Great rhyme and story, you do have some poisonous snakes and other dangerous creatures in your part of the world. Last year, we had a fairly large snake slide into our house when I opened a door. It was an ordeal, I wrote a poem about it here, we never did find it!

Great rhyme and story, you do have some poisonous snakes and other dangerous creatures in your part of the world. Last year, we had a fairly large snake slide into our house when I opened a door. It was an ordeal, I wrote a poem about it here, we never did find it!

Hi Linds Oh how awful to have a snake slide into your house and worse still not to find it yuk I wouldn't sleep. I must look up your poem. Thanks for reading my poem and I enjoyed writing about it and to see the Echnida was a bonus Cheers Christine😃

Very, very good. I could feel how you felt about snakes. It flowed well and the rhyme was superb. I, too, like rhyming poetry best. Looking forward to reading more.

Hi damommy. thanks heaps for reading my poem and I do like to write in rhyming verse iFind it easy to get the rhythm and then the words just come out LOL . I have a few now and write nearly every day. This is so addictive Xheers for ypur lovely review Christine😀
