What lovely sentiment in your post, Nicole. I know your writing has made quantum improvement (I have no idea what quantum ACTUALLY means, but substitute "bunches of") this last year. I feel mine has also improved, more in the area of grammar and economy of language. Of course I didn't enter contests this year. Anyway, Nicole, I don't want to get all weepy, but I sincerely thank you for all the support you gave me in 2015. Let's both publish in 2016. Okay?

What an inspirational write. I'm a competitive person and like the ranking system on FS even if flawed. The best writing is often done by those who post less often because they spend more time perfecting the piece. I just wish reviewers could be more honest. Not everything is excellent by far. Sigh...

This is so true. The only really worthwhile challenge is challenging yourself. Comparison with other is always invidious. Doing better than you did before is always a win.
