Yes, people should be grounded and still have flexibility. Love the metaphor that the tree represents. You see, one can write a meaning 5-7-5 poem. Great job! Good luck with the contest. Les

I like this very much
Yes I feel we should reach out
like a tree and share our love
within our world everywhere
and with our enemies as well.

A fantastic pair of artwork pieces illustrate this 5-7-5 so exceptionally well, the apparent straightness of the bamboo contrasting with the beautiful curves of the ... ah can't identify those. But it is the bamboo that will bend to the typhoons blast while the mighty looking trees that i can't identify are more likely to be toppled. Those beautifully curving limbs I think have limited flexibility.
The personification in the philosophy though is pretty sound stuff.

Hmmm... I think I wouldn't mind being a tree - there's something majestic about a good specimen.
Nice metaphor here with the double whammy of stability and flexibility.
Good luck.

This had me worried for a moment with advice to be deeply grounded in the earth; seemed like after death. But, then I got your drift. Be firm and confident with who you are but remain flexible wherever it's necessary to be so. The metaphor is strong. The tree is well established as part of the theme and you have followed all technical requirements. Excellent work. Best of luck.

Deeply grounded with flexible limbs- are you sure that this is not a tree hugger poem directed at the U.S. Congress lol? Seriously though, in this we should all emulate trees. Good 5-7-5 and good luck in the contest!

Thank you for sharing. I envision a person grounded in their personal beliefs but still able to accept others for who they are. When we are able to do that, friendships bloom.

Both of these pictures are fascinating. There are many lessons to learn from nature and trees teach many of them. I also like that they start from such tiny beginnings to eventually become such giants. I also like that they grow as long as they live.
