Hi gamay for your reading of this Tanka ( this is my first one also so I had a look at what made a Tanka online and tried to follow the guidelines basically it is a bit like a Haiku but a Tanka has 5 lines with a syllable count for each line .
1st Line 5 syllables
2 nd line 7 syllables
3rd Line 5 syllables
4 th line 7 syllables
5 th line 7 syllables
So if you can access an online site e.g. Google look up Tanka for some examples and have a try at writing one. Have fun and thanks so much for your review and goo luck message Christine. 😊

Very well put together, and sounds good. The picture should be different, maybe not... The beautiful face, but the hands need to be cleaner. To me, they look like a man's hands after working on a car. Please don't take this wrong. I"m not out to hurt anyone's feelings. chowchow

Hi Marilyn I am a little confused as to what you mean by post for the picture today . I entered a poem for the breast cancer picture called Sues Journey ( oh I have now remembered is it the Picture of the Coloured forest . I havent written anything for that picture but will tonight when I get home from work. Running late as usual. being new to this site I am still learning rules and lots of things too so nice to say Hi and I will keep a look out for your post Cheers Christine PS i hope this makes sense lol

I'm no expert, but it looks to me to meet the tanka requirements. More importantly, it's an excellent poem. It has a classic feel to it - extolling the wonderful sensation of waking up next to the one you love. The picture fits the poem perfectly. Good luck in the contest.
