Hi Missy
How is it that I only find your work in FB on your page and not on mine or in FS. This is a remarkable poem, and beautiful message. Please don't lock me out

Your poem is beautifully presented . I think this is like romancing a book . I used to love to take a book and get lost in it .You can visit places you never heard of before. Visualize everything like you were watching a movie. Feel the emotions of the characters . It is a whole new world. It is well composed and a joy to read.

Stay close hon...I will be reading a lot again for whatever comes to me.

Hi Missy,
here I go, turning the page again... mystified in though of magic composed through written word and delivered with emotion to stir the soul... yeah, read, sing-- listen... it all transcends us to another visual journey... maybe we identify with it, or maybe just somewhere, somehow, something we should know to allow the fire in our knowing to inspire. Yes, there is certainly such a MAGIC in the power of written word and more so the connection it affords us to be able to fly in between the lines.
A wonderfully constructed and presented poem... the magic visual gave your words-- wings... a true pleasure to ponder in your thoughts.
I'm not sure if it's just my screen... but the first two line of your last verse has the 'G's cut off... in magic and page... but of course it did not take away the magic.
With our thoughts we create,
a reason to fly,
James vx's.

Very strong imagery used. Good rhythm, flow and rhyme. I like the repeating line. So many emotions and words that do touch the soul.

Well, Missy, if there weren't magic in the written world we would all be wasting a lot of time hanging around this site, right?
Your poem explores the mystery of the magic and finish it with a challenge to "Pick up a book, turn a page
Take a look....you be the guage.
Only one suggestion would be to never use more than three dots to separate clauses, unless it is at the end of a full sentence.
I do like your poem, Missy.

This is very well constructed as the rhyme and meter are consistent and fluid throughout when read aloud. I thought your imagery strong and the choice of repeated line elevates the piece by keeping the reader's mind focused on the mystical power of words to reach out and touch souls long after they have been penned. One suggestion I would make is to try not to repeat specific words or images in a poem - in this case stirred and stir - always seek to either enhance the previous image or introduce a new one with a similar tone. Nicely done and I thank you very much for sharing it.

Very true, Missy, and very well stated.
Has anyone who's ever been an avid reader read a book, then saw that book made into a movie, and after seeing the movie said, "Oh, the movie was so-o-o much better than the book!"
I doubt it. And there's a good reason they don't.
The mind, when fully immersed in a good book or story, can take us places no filmmaker could possibly imagine or dream of. Even the classic film "Gone With the Wind", starring Clark Gable as Rhett Butler, and Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara, as good as that film is, it's nowhere as good as the book written by Margaret Mitchell. At least it isn't in my opinion.
Cool presentation, love the repetitive line, "There is such magic in the written word" because in reality, there truly is.

There is such magic in your words. They ring so true. Beautifully written and beautiful rhyme. Whether written, read preached or sung, there is a healing power in each word. So much laughter and joy can replace sorrow through the magic of word. Beautiful.
