This is a lovely thought. We need to believe in the beautiful, the magical, and Brooke's poetry expressed just that. I loved the line "Cinderella's sudden slipper inheritance." Cinderella can marry a prince; dandelions can be beautiful. A wonderful tribute to Brooke. Let's hope and pray she gets well. judi

Good evening Michael,
A long journey home and I had many poems dedicated to Brooke to ruminate over and decide who gets my one six left of the week. This one is most deserved, and it isn't because of our deep and beautiful friendship, it is because it truly deserves.
You are the poet which engages the whole of man. I have said this many times over in regards to poetry. Good poetry must on all levels touch the reader's intellect and emotion. You bring to the forefront the complexities of human nature and of the tragedies and of the sufferings, the excitements and the joys.
Your poem has such depth and intensity to its economical language and its perfect arrangement of words to bind metaphors, beliefs, and facts into an incredible package of a sentimental journey, filled with respect and admiration for its subject.
Your work demonstrates that you have a certain command of life. When you scribe, you enrich our lives with enormous rewards of intellectual persuasion and beauty.
There are too many potent lines to go through each one, but the one which stands out for me is
unless flowers do manage life from weeds
True a beautiful life, though tended with diligent care from love has no guarantee against the weeds which may crop up. Then of course this particular line can be directed at the stout dandelion of which Brooke is so fond of.
Ahh, I shall bore you no more and let you get on with living.
My love to you always
Jimi
your poem reminded me of this song of which I would normally dedicate to you, but I now dedicate it to Brooke.
Love you dearly.. Jimi

Michael: I like that you kept with the dandelion theme. Her famous dandelion poems make me laugh out loud and shake my head. Where I come from (Michigan), we spent a lot of money killing dandelions from our yards, but she seems to adore them. I hope that she has some in her room today. I actually understood your poem today . . . maybe I'm catching on to your way of thinking . . .Thunder

yes....she ..um struck me as...ah not ordinary. fitting she would find the beauty in a weeds life. Well....I wrote this my way.....I may write another for her....more confined shall we say. haha...really I may. Anyway...my way of thinking usually clashes with established....so wear protective gear and heavy rings on your right hand....-wink- lol...ah just messing around Thunder....love Michael

Indeed an excellent photo of Dandelions past flowering time. It complements your poem absolutely perfectly. Your free verse about Dandelions, Peter Pan and what more will certainly be liked by Brooke.

After your struggles and hesitations in life raise questions but collide into faith in the end you will be able to see yourself as beautiful as nature
