This was excellent work. It sounded, almost, as if you were speaking of me! Your words were beautiful. I'm sure it describes a lot of us that are creeping up in years. Keep up the good work!

It is so true of how life can change so fast - from rainbows to shade. This is a great tribute to Brooke in beautiful sonnet form.

this is an excellent write, visionary, you did an excellent job writing this sonnet about the way we need to bask in the sun when the shadows threaten to take over. I enjoyed reading us. good luck in the contest.

Life so infuriatingly short offers us the opportunity to discover great truths alongside simple and uncomplicated truths. We are mortals, our time is short, each day that we can see and feel the sun is a day that we should celebrate. Whenever we have a chance to make human contact with anyone, we should relish that chance and take full advantage of it. We should never forget to or ignore the chance to say to our God and creator a simple heartfelt thank you for each day that we are given. For me, your wonderful poem says all of that. Like you I am a huge fan of Brooke's. I love her and I pray for her to be returned to us better than ever.

I think we all miss her. Brooke sure brings a lot of sunshine and smiles to everyone's lives. This is very well done and a fitting tribute.
Take care.

Nicely written sonnet in reverence to Brooke. The is missed and we all hope she will be here again to inspire us and make us laugh. She was always a big help and did it kindly.

This is gorgeous, Sharyn. It is most appropriate for Brooke's situation and I'm sure she'd be the first to congratulate you on your choice of format, the depth of the contemplation, and your wonderfully inventive use of line eg
and leisured contemplation. Time's design
looked logical, compassionate, benign
with boundless heaven here on earth, and there ...
This example of inter-satnza/line enjambment was so cleverly done, it jumped off the page at me. I also liked your sudden, but subtle turn that utilises a perfect set of imagery to convey such a sad turn of events:
But then
by random whim - a quirk - caprice of fate,
a life of rainbows turns to shade.
I hope a thousand read this and acknowledge what you've said.

This is the third poem I am reading for Brooke and I had no idea she was really fighting any serious illness .I thoght she was suffering frm some seasonal virus attack.
This is the best of the three. I loved your lines"with poetry of dandelions prayer to celebrate each day of love'.
a life of rainbows turns to shade- beautifully expressed.
At the bottom 'multi-author book ' is given .is it a book of poems for brooke? if it is can i make my humble contribution?

"Aloha" Sanku - and "mahalo", my dear, for your lovely six. I've only been back on the site for a couple of weeks, and I immediately wondered where Brooke's writing was. Then I found out (from the Forum page) that she'd been diagnosed with M.S. - a very serious illness. And yes! ABSOLUTELY! Please do make a contribution! I believe you just click on the 'multi author' book on any poem you see that's part of the book, and it will guide you into setting it up. Otherwise, just ask Tom. So many people love her and her work - and so many people are writing something to honor such a special lady.
Blessings,
Sharyn

I am sorry for asking ,which is the forum page ? i saw the home page clicked 'community ' but nothing was seen?

You go to "Profile", click on "forum" and select 'general' ... that gives you all the news concerning poor Brooke.

Hi there,
This is a great poem, and a wonderful tribute.
Very fine imagery drawn. Transitions are always difficult and no matter how prepared we think we are, something always springs up to throw us off.
Great write.

This was the best piece I've seen for Brooke so far! Well done putting it in a contest and staying positive. I haven't heard anything she's in my prayers. Loved this I hope she will be dancing soon! beth fairy77.

THERE you are - thank you Beth! Brooke has M.S. I'm afraid - not a good diagnosis.
Blessings,
