This was superb. No "cozy rhyme scheme", but your iambic meter is infailable. Fantastic imagery that just draws you in and brings the image of that unfortunate who is ready to take a step forward and end it all. I adored the black stallion in the picture - is there some significance to having him there?

Awesome imagery and word choices here:

The sky is both above me and beneath;
I cannot walk out there nor swim at all;
no salt spray's sting, no saturated skin,
not by this windswept playground of the gull.

A very enjoyable offering.

    I'd like to say that I am paid £100 by Lloyds Bank every time I put him in but unfortunately the truth is that he happened to be in the best piece of clifftop artwork I could find! I suppose his rearing up in fright at the drop adds to the scary cliff top. Thanks for this splendid review. So glad you are enjoying the series.

A symbolic poem revealing the thoughts of someone considering suicide at the edge of cliffs overlooking the sea. The gull's playground may be safe and free for the gull but to a person not able to fly or swim it represents a danger. A great portrait of nature and it's overwhelming power over us!

    It wasn't really intended as a suicide note, but yet another type of coastal scene, but such is the power of a final verse, suicide has become the theme. Thank you for reading and reviewing.

Nice horsey. Not so nice topic of this poem, but hey, it happens. Verses flowed well together. Action smooth and story line easy to follow. Write on.

    Yes. Sorry about the Lloyds Bank advert. It was the best clifftop art I could find! Thanks for reading and reviewing.
