This is a horrifically nice story. It has enough "scare" to keep us interested without having to turn on all the lights in the room. :)
Also, your title is so appropriate....reminds me of that other catchy title: The Returned.

I am petrified of scarecrows. I watched an episode of supernatural where a scarecrow killed people who were left forvhim. Then he ensured prospetitybforvthevtown. Great poem. Gretchen

I loved this gruesome and delightfully scary tale of terror with a moral for the thrill seekers. I definitely agree with the kids who never went there again.

Hi Dean
Very good write.
Good interaction of the characters.
Very good scene development and
description for such a short write.
Holy Smokes where did you get these pictures?
They really go with this story.
Is this picture of the sort of dead guy an indication of something you're trying to confess to us? LOL.
On the creepy and gruesome scale: I think tale gets 3 creepy's for the write and 2 gruesome's for the picture. LOL
However it sounds like you scare the pants off your women readers with your writes, and they seem to enjoy the process. Is this some kind of new secret technique I'm learning about for us single guys? LOL
Over all, I think it is a very good write.
