Hmmm, witty, yet really dark humor at the same time, Spitfire. How true are these simply, especially the title. Sort of a tough decision, as to wither you want to survive, and be homeless, or just take the death sentence. Good stuff there, Spitfire.

Oh no! You'll make things works by not getting enough sleep! There's always a way to work things out.

Great! I love word play and this is kind of on the macabre side. I call this kind of joke a "cringer". Well done and nicely presented. Great job!

a cringer--I like that. Thanks for the encouraging review. On the macabre side for sure, but I couldn't resist the pun.

This is the pun-diagnosed winner of this contest. I'm certain that the final tests will confirm this. Great pairing of theme and image as well.

Looking at your choose of what artwork to choose.
I think you were right on point.
Even though cancer is no joke.
I understood the meaning.
Good luck. LOL

I guess that laughter is the best response to this dread disease. Having seen cancer at close quarters two or three times recently, it can be hard to raise a smile. As usual, you have come up with a pun that is spot on.

Very clever play on 'lump', Shari.

I guess the docs think they can charge what they like, and cancer survivors will be happily willing to pay.

Thank goodness excellent progress has been made in cancer treatment over the last couple of years - an awful illness.

Cheers, Ray xx

Ray, I've seen so many people go through chemo only to give then another two to five years. The second time around never seems to be successful. I don't know if it's worth it. Sigh...

Ah, a little bit of black humor here.
It's hard to find the humor in cancer,
but I think you hit it, Shari.
Normally doctor bills are beyond my
comprehensive skills.

Best of luck.

Peace, Lee

Excellent and ironic at the same time Shari. The cold hard facts are sometimes there in writing bearing an uncanny resemblance to the prognosis / treatment. Great pun for the Doc...but I'd say, maybe not so great for the patient LOL
Clever work, well done...Cheers P

Of all these I've read so far, Shari, your doc/patient poem reads like a senryu with its irony, and it's worded perfectly to really get the reader to understand the play on words and the satire. I enjoyed so much and wish you lots of good luck in the contest.
Smiles,
Karyn :-)
