This post works on two levels. This is a stir about the changing weather at this time of year and climate change in general.

G'day again Shirley. This is absolutely lovely work mate and I don't have a six to give you. *****+ I loved it, I am an Australian Bushman and nature is my life. Now I live in the Philippines and am learning more. Cheers Fez

Thank you so much for a positive review.
I live in a volcanic caldera in NE NSW Australia and I have a fascination and appreciation for nature and the
world around me. I try to bring part of myself and my environment to my poetry.
Thank you for your time and appreciation.

It's great when poets collect imagery and themes from personal experience and compose from that. Here, I think you have captured a wonderful poetic reel of images from the storm, that bring the experience emotionally and mentally close to the reader's perception. Most verses focus on the movement, weather elements, and activity around the storm. This is done simply and beautifully. I could feel the emery of the event. Involving personal elements, particularly towards the end, gives the poem a rich human element that makes this so authentic. I loved the rhythm you generated through good beat and rhyme; really suited the theme. An entertaining read.

Shirley; the realism in your poem is so frank, thought-provoking and poignant that it captures the essence of the situation you had in driving in a fierce rain. And being as real as it is I am so happy that you both survive without a hitch.
Your rhyming was extremely done well in this poem and neither forced nor labored and so helpful in your rhythmic flow. But what really astonished me is how well you used your words and your rhyming which made them not strained at all. Your tempo and meter also was very well defined and flowed smoothly throughout your writing.
Thank you for sharing and posting and may you have a very happy new year Shirley.

"Weather Change."is a new view of the kaleidoscope that is one of natures playful disasters: The Rain Storm and the new concept we just learned. "clouds and the darkness tightly embrace". A new fallen sheet of rain wipes the slate clean and starts a new chapter. Thanks for sharing May God Bless You

The colors in the picture are beautiful! Trying to drive through one of these, not so beautiful. Great rhyming, flow, and imagery. I went to Oregon this past summer and saw my first dust devils, which we don't have in Michigan. Glad you made it back safely.

Driving in bad weather scares me too, but sometimes there's no choice. Christmas night I drove by a car flipped over on the highway. Must've totally ruined someone's Christmas. I love the descriptions in your poem. Glad you and your daughter made it home safe.

This is written in great rhyming couplets. I've been complaining about our weather (12 days of no sunshine) but so many places have been getting hit by terrible storms. This sounds awful what you got caught in.

Hi, Shirley,
Wow, you shot a neat photo. The clouds look as if they could talk to you. Rain and hail are not a fun combo to have to be out and about in.
Here in the desert it can be calm and nice one minute, and then next clouds move in and you never know what you're gonna get.
Nice visualization in your poem, making for a great presentation. I'm just glad you had no problems.
*Happy New Year!!*
Cheers & Blessings

That is a lovely picture Shirley! I know how frightening that must have been. I was driving in a whiteout snow storm one day and I didn't know where I was. By the grace of God I made it home safely. Almost got hit by a big truck though.Well done. Best wishes in the New Year! :<) Nancy
