Excellent analysis of what is happening in the world's super power. A good read I must say. Well, in every nation in the world, when criminals kill each other, no one raises a finger, not even the human rights but when the government fights crime..watch out, it becomes a big issue. I am pleased that the Silver haired man denied the boy parole because he could have gone on a revenge mission.
However, two wrongs doesn't make it right when police also kill an harmless person like the bloke who was suffocated to death as he plead for his dear life saying "I can't breath, I can't breath" isn't right.
I love your stories, keep it streaming.

Excellent analysis of what is happening in the world's super power. A good read I must say. Well, in every nation in the world, when criminals kill each other, no one raises a finger, not even the human rights but when the government fights crime..watch out, it becomes a big issue. Thank you. You are correct, but I don't think the police tried to kill Garner. He had a lot of medical issues, that he knew about before he chose to resist arrest. Which would have been his 31st arrest.

Excellent essay, lancellot. Your story about the kid getting denied parole and why was very moving. Sounds like he had a hard life and really only had strangers to look out for him. So sad. ..And your grandmother sounds like a very wise woman. :)

Hey Lance, excellent essay. You and I have talked about this on many occasions and I agree with everything you said. I've always thought that the Jackson/Sharpton types caused far more trouble in the black community then they ever gave benefit. Self-aggrandizement is all they care about because its the only thing that makes them even slightly relevant. Stir that pot, it's all they can think of to do.
I saw the words 'Black Lives Matter' as the title for an article stating that the Assemblies of God, largest Pentecostal denomination in the world, has come out with it publicly, that statement. Kinda blew me away, because I always thought black lives mattered, and as an AG I didn't think it was anything new. Imagine my surprise.
Excellent essay, my friend, I'm waiting for the next.
BTW, 'And worse of all' - s/b 'worst'.

Always well-written pieces, lancellot. Still not sure why the black community is so mean and brutal to their own people and businesses. I have more understanding when they take out their anger on the whites, but why their own? I really look forward to your suggestions for resolution.

Powerful words that carry a lot of weight. I get so frustrated that we are too "cowardly" to speak out against black on black crime. I hope you are submitting these posts to a newspaper, etc.

The news media just love the side show when some black activist shows up. As they're missing from action in cities like Chicago, the media doesn't give much attention to the crimes there. Once again you've taken a tough, emotionally charged topic and stated your view on it in a straightforward but elegant manner. You're right. Injustice is rampant and multi-layered. There are good and bad points on each side but unfortunately the people allow themselves to be emotionally manipulated into heinous acts. The real criminals are the ones who stand on the sidelines, whisper hatred, then send others to do the dirty work. I'm sure anyone could name them because they show up every time emotions get high.
I found your point about the boy who was not paroled to be sad but true. I too work in corrections and know that we receive the blame from the families of inmates for any perceived wrong even though we did not put them there.
We silently deal with the wrath and move on.

Thank you very much, John. I agree, education is the perfect vehicle to move a person up and out. You are right, one can't force a person to learn. I do think we can defeat the gangs, I will get into that more and more. Part two is posted. I would like to know what you think, from a different POV.
