Very short but shows an understanding of how we would act in this situation that you write about. Trying to look relaxed and unconcerned but inwardly in turmoil. I would have liked to have seen a longer piece enlarging on the subject. Warm regards Dorothy

Oh this is a sad introspection.'what was wrong with me?' This poem is a condensed story ,describes a cameo of a woman sitting alone with a story behind her loneliness.'but he left so abruptly'-is a great closing lines ,leaving the reader with endless imagination.

'Truly Baffling' is an extremely well-written piece. Short, succinct and very much to the point. It was a pleasure to both read and review a poem of this standard.

From this poem, it 's source of a wander why the lover left the lady alone and he lady still feel being unperturbed by the sudden change of event. Undoubtedly, the writer says, the lady is attractive, but for what reason the man left is a wonder.
It's some kind of a poem that has left something on the void.

Someone said, "You can find the most beautiful woman in the world, but you can bet there's already some guy that's tired of taking her crap". This lady may be of those "that's fun to look at, but you wouldn't want to own her". Your poem has a message, and I like it.

"Suddenly" in the first line plays so well against the "abruptly" of the last line.

One wonders what she is hiding that she looks relaxed, confident. Is it because she is aware of her attractiveness? Has she used her good looks as a weapon against him? Why did he leave her so abruptly?

Open questions make for good poetry.

Good job with this poem about a truly baffling situation for a girl who seems to not be used to be abandoned. Picture compliments and makes the reader ponder the different scenarios.

I enjoyed this obsevation based verse.

I get the sense that this is told from a male's point of view.

Why, indeed, would a man leave the side of a lovely woman.

In my version of the verse, she sends him awayt and is truly unperterbed by his absense. LOL Hugs, d

What a great little poem with a shocking piece of her new reality. This is interesting and thought provoking. It could happen to anyone at anytime. Life is never stable, and the unexpected can sometimes happen. I really like the image of the girl. Thanks for sharing,

Earthlover
