A very well-written heartfelt poem. Some people does not always realize how lucky they are to be able to have a bundle of love in their arms, while many will not have that opportunity.

Thanks Sis. Appreciate your caring review. We have never been given the opportunity to be Aunt and Uncle to my wife's Nephews and Nieces. In one branch of the family they consider their Great Aunt as their sole Aunty. Something to do with our Sis in law being an only child maybe?? I guess they will all find out when our wills are read.

Thanks Barb. I mentioned either in the comments or one of the reviews I knew of a couple in our church who withheld their first child from her own parents for 12 Months. Weird.

This is a loving picture and a sweet poem. New parents are very frightened about that little one and it makes it hard to share. but sharing with relative who will love the babe is the beginning of it's relationships.

Yeah well this was in 1973 Franki is now just over 40 years old. I was 22 then. Thanks for coming by. Found a 'stand alone ' version of one of my chapters of my book that is since included so now I have another chapter to slide in and move others around! Yay!

Thanks Jenny. Appreciate your kind words. Think I might have written to you about a review you did pretty well a year ago on one of the chapters of my book. It was a stand alone chapter at the time. Check your notices from FS from me. If you have already reviewed that chapter in it's new spot then disregard ok!

I do remember reviewing a chapter from you ...thinking wow I get a reply after a year? Thanks for explaining:o)

Well I joined FS in July last year and if you think about it only 3 months into my sojourn on here I was still learning the ropes. The autobiography that is now a part of has been re routed re organized and is still getting moved around as we speak. I was splitting up chapters and made the big mistake of telling Tom. They were too big I thought and Mikey (Michael Cahill) agreed smaller chapters were more likely to get reviews. That was also why I wrote the Foot in Mouth Man poem I think you looked at that too ha. I think with the moves some reviews probably related to chapters that had moved as well. Pity we can't move the reviews ha!

A beautiful poem my friend about the little ones. Great picture and great words to tell this heart warming story about some truth of life.

Thanks Bro.
That was me with my little niece (now over 40 I think)I was a doting uncle as she and her folks (my brother and wife) lived in the family home for a while and I lived in the back flat (one of)

Babies have a unique way of burrowing into our hearts. I have always been amazed how something so small and dependent can cause so much havoc in a family. LOL I enjoyed reading your poem.

Sankey, this is a tender and warm-hearted write that elicits the emptions that parents feel when they hold their baby, or in this case a niece. I can't imaging why she would object to your posting it. Nicely done. :0 GracieAnn

My wife thought a friend who has a young one might take it personally. Seems both she and he sister were very clingy. As a matter of fact her sister withheld her baby from her own mother for quite some time. Weird. Thanks for the review.

You bring up an excellent thought in this. The small children benefit, too, by knowing that other family members and friends care about them too. They get a sense of trust. I don't know why I thought of this, but I've read that the Amish are very protective of their little ones and keep them all bundled up and don't let others handle them. Thus, the Amish grow up with a distrust of others who aren't in their community. Your thoughts are well expressed, and such a charming photo. judi

Hey what an excellent thought. Just been reading about a music teacher who was fondling girls so I guess there is that element as well. But I think the paedophile is in the minority.Been disappointed about Rolf Harris and all that. Abd the other guy from the Australia television show "Hey Dad".

I suppose there is a fine line here. Sometimes those shows of affection can be misinterpreted and the relative involved labeled a dirty old man. Depends on the age of the child, I suppose. judi

Yeah we were glad when Louise's sister in law brought affection into an other wise cold and non affectionate family.

This is a lovely poem. It's hard to put babies down. They so darned cute and lovable. And they don't ask for a bigger allowance or the car keys. We all know that comes later. lol. Seriously, this is a very good poem. I enjoyed it a lot. Have a good one, Judy

The underlying poignancy of the lines tugged at my heart, Geoff.
It must have been hard for her. I hope she had many who were willing to share.
How young you look!
