You sure got that right, Shari. Us oldsters sure love to discuss our ailments from head to toe. I'm not old enough yet to be constantly worried about bowel activities. Fun read.
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

Oh yes, that's a biggie. I remember one night at karaoke, people were shouting out trivia. One guy said, I had a BM today!

Hi, Shari.
This is well done and very humourous. The last line really pulls it all together, "liver and kidneys." Very clever.
Bye
Rosalyne :)

Clever irony in this well penned senryu, my friend. good word economy. Fine closing twist. Superb consonance of S in all lines and nice alliteration of D in line two. Fine assonance of U and E as well.

A good picture too to match the theme, too :)

Love,
rd

This is funny and gross at the same time. Maybe that's what these two smiling(couple?) are discussing. Their plates look liver and kidney free. I doubt the discussion would even go there if that was the evening's main course. You are a master at not only picking a topic and turning it on its head, but with the format of senryu as well.

Hello Spitfire, Great senryu humor, especially ...

liver and kidneys

(my afterthought ... twice served:

Eaten tonight
Transplanted tomorrow
A daily-double delight

SF, I can't explain these afterthoughts. They just pop into my head - lol.)

A fun poem. Keep the blue waters flowing and when passing through a nursing home, hold onto your liver and kidneys; these Homes take donations to another level, indeed.)

Smiles, LateBloomer

LOL - I think I'm going to barf. I'm wondering what inspired this delightfully twisted ditty. I wouldn't be surprised if they did discuss their own ailing kidneys as they dined. Another good one, Shari. Hugs, Lou

Guess nursing homes are on my mind with Frank losing sense of time and space along with how to take his insulin! Fortunately, he loves liver. LOL

Are you considering a nursing home? It would certainly make your life easier.

Not yet. I'm holding out for as long as I can. Assisted living sounds pretty good right now, LOL.

That's pretty messed up, Spitfire. I wasn't sure where you were going with this when I read the first two lines, but I knew it wouldn't be ordinary. LOL. Good stuff.

What can I say? Get old people together and you get an organ recital. :-)

Oh I hope they aren't eating liver or kidneys. Granny was obsessed with bowel movements. A good day was one with a bm in it..
This is a delightful photo. And poem.
God bless

LOL, Shari.

I hope the menu doesn't consist of the organs of residents who have sadly recently passed away.

Hey, even nursing homes have to economise in these tough economic times. MWAHA!;-)

Fun read.

Cheers, Ray xx

That is really cute, Spitfire. I used to get a kick out of going to lunch with my mom when she was in an assisted living home. Watching all the little romances and listening to their conversations was like snack time in kindergarten. They were all so cute. This brought back some of those memories.

As a patient or a visitor? LOL
reply by the author on 09-Oct-2014
Hopefully, just a visitor although it would be nice not to have to cook meals or clean house.
