Hah, yeah, I gotta' agree with you there, Debra. I got a son who will eat nothing, and I do mean no-thing! -- green. Not celery, nor lettuce. No green beans or peas... On the other hand, our daughter loves greens, spinach, broccoli, beans and peas. Go figure, they're likes as as different as nigh and day!

Well done 5/7/5, with a twist.

Best of luck to ya'!:)

Thanks Dean for your nice feedback and good luck wishes - I appreciate both :)
1 out of my 3 will eat the peas (and everything else good for her) the other 2 would go without fruit or veg if I let them and eat junk food instead - I weaned them all on the good stuff, don't know what went wrong!
    Cheers, Debra :)

I love the poem. I love peas. I used to enjoy picking them. My children would not eat peas the regular way. They loved them frozen though. I would give them a small cup full as a snack. Great work. Good luck in the contest.

Hi Ellie, thank you for your great feedback and good luck wishes. I appreciate both! Did you thaw out the peas for your kids' snack or did they eat them frozen??
Kindest regards as always, Debra :)

Debra;
you is buying up I saw nothing wrong with peas and I can't figure out why today a lot of children don't like it.
I really enjoyed your writing very much. I like it see it very clearly.
The imagery is very clear and demonstratively descriptive and exquisitely expressive throughout your 5/7/5 syllabic acrostic poem.
Good luck in the contest for this is a very excellent entry in May the starshine always bright new way through the darkest of times.

This is a fun 5-7-5, Debra -- definitely with a perfect twist.

You've made great use of alliteration with podded perfection and exquisite edible, making for a great flow.

Abhorred by kids!

Well done! Good luck in the contest. Alana

Your poem is in excellent 5/7/5 syllable count
It is also an adorable acrostic for Pea
Your kids and I are on the same page - I detest peas to this day
I really like the alliteration in podded perfection - what a clever phrase
great pairing of exquisite edible too
a strong entry in this contest :-) Brooke

Hi Brooke :) thank you so much for your lovely feedback. I never used to like peas either, but they're one of my favourite veggies now. Can't stand broad beans though! Kind regards, Debra

Excellent alliteration in this fun read, Debs.

I don't think kids like to eat anything that's green. Maybe they should dye peas red. :-)

Feel free to check out my portfolio occasionally. ;-)

Cheers, Ray xx

Hi Ray :) Thanks for your great feedback... yep, green doesn't seem to appeal to kids food wise - unfortunately the same can't be said for bogeys - they'll happily chew on those! Bleurgh!
I'm off to check out your portfolio ;)

Very clever and interesting prompt and you did a great job of fulfilling the requirements. I agree with your kids, unless they are frozen. Then they taste like candy.

LOL, Debra, your poor children can't escape any of your motherly, loving thoughts!!!! I loved this one, and I just couldn't help laughing. You have managed to write an acrostic with the exact syllable count, I think this has got to be a winner! Good luck, my dear friend! xsx Sandra. (still laughing!)
