You are absolutely right about the light Geoff, you'd think that after a couple of failures...looks like a nice looking cat, but I can't really tell if he's photogenic or not, seeing the light is...I guess you've learnt now, but well done, with the story, your friend and bro. Roy.

Hi Roy thanks. A few liked old Pinny's Photo Inny short for Pinnochio with a funny tail seeing his Mum was Persian and his Dad a Manx we knew both owners hehe. So he got a funny stump for a tail not long and fluffy as Persians should be. There is another photo of him somewhere peeping up my child hood sweetheart's dress in a group photo with my Grandmother I talk about him in my Autobiography.

Photography was a pain in the Ahem win I was on Ebay. Lighting effect can really be nerve-racking. A nice image of the cat. Good job.

Hi charlie, someone siad my demonstration of light washing over the photo would have not been a worry in this case as old Pinny looked pretty good. You may have read about him im the book along the way. Thanks working on some more changes of the book today esepcailly in some audio files!

Yes, when taking photographs, light plays a very important role. A friend of mine is a photographer and gave me some good tips over the years. Thanks for sharing.

No worries mate. One of the reviewers or someplace else did point out we can do some spiffy shots with the light behind but only for artistic purposes.

I'm not a photographer, Geoff, Goeff, Jeff and Jeffrey, but that was one of the first lessons I learned with my Brownie Hawkeye camera: Always try to have the light coming over your left shoulder. Why left? Haven't a clue, but it's what I remember.
Good warning to give Fanstorians, though.

Thanks friend as I said to JudyS I loved old Pinny with his funny tail only sorry we did not get some better photos of him. I have one here of him peeking up my childhood sweetheart's dress in a group photo with my Grandmonther see if I can find it.

This is certainly different, Sankey. I learned something new today. For me, photography has been about point and click.
While you might not like that photo, to be honest, perfection sucks. Things that are raw and with character (without being shoddy) are what really stick in one's mind. I love that picture!

Hi,
Why is it, the shot you want to take is always in the wrong light?! It's like 'Murphy's Law' of photography. LOL.
I must say, though, the photo you paired with this is a 'cool cat' photo!
Cheers & Blessings

That is very important information and generally true. I have seen and shot some pretty spectacular shots, however, with the light source directly behind and hidden by the subject. It makes a halo effect and quite lovely.

Yes I agree with that too. I guess there is right and wrong about the light behind the subject appreciate your review. Pinny the cat is spoken about in my Autobiography called him Pinny (short for Pinnochio) due to his funny tail Persian Mum and Manx Dad hence the stump stretched tail. We knew the MUm and the Dad of Pinny hehe.
