I thought this was your signature writing. Sophisticated limericks at their best, and this is a good one. However I see you lost this one. Kenny

Thanks, Kenny.
Yes, I am disappointed with the vote. I have really been on a roll lately - won eight in a row - but I guess the run had to end some time!

--eight in a row! That's a full time job.

This is a fun and funny rhyme about just how an armadillo might choose to get comfortable to sleep. Just use some pussy willows for a nice, soft pillow.
Armadillo - 'possum on the half shell.

Thanks, Rebekka.
Now if you could just tell me why more than half the reviewers didn't find any bawdy element in this at all.... Oh, no, pussy willows wouldn't be very comfortable or cool to sleep on!!!!@

Pretty good and easy to read as well. Always enjoy a good old fashioned limerick. You followed the rules to a tee. Good luck in the contest.

To be honest, I don't quite get the drift, but I'm not used to the southern dialect. I think I've got it, but anyway, it was definitely a Limerick. Kudos for being able to write one.

Thank you - I must have been too subtle with this one.

Southern comfort sounds good to me, rest my head on the plump pussy willow next to the happy and plump armadillo. This is cute.

Hmmmm.. could be the 'hot' armadillo wants to roll on the juicy 'pussy' willow on his own!
Thanks for reviewing.

Wow! You had a lot of rules to navigate in this one. Requiring no author notes and plain black text with white background only certainly levels the playing field. You've rhymed this superbly and the syllable count falls perfectly in line for a limerick. Imaginative choice of an armadillo for your animal. I assume the pussy willow was hot also. Interesting combination there of pussy willow and armadillo. Unique rhyme choice too. judi

Someone tells me pussy willows don't grow where the armadillos live - well, I chose it mainly for the 'pussy' component and the nice rhyme!

Great use of description in your poem that creates a wonderful image while I read the poem. Great entry for this prompt. Great rhyme scheme. Best of luck.

In Texas, a hot armadillo
Was asked what he'd choose for a pillow.
"For fine 'frigerating
I roll this ol' plating
On juicy and plump pussy willow."
-- You caught the bawdy and the humour in a very fine limerick.
Excellent.

Glad you caught the bawdy element. I have never known so many reviewers who could pass 'pussy' in a Limerick as if it wasn't there!

After reading the notes on the contest rules, I figure you filled out all areas to specks. A good descriptive limerick providing great imagery for this armadillo.
well penned
good luck in the contest
