Great poem that you wrote for this prompt. Nice dedication to Robin Williams. I like the flow of your poem. Great picture to go with your poem. Best of luck.

Thank you for the review. Will you be honest with me and tell me if you found it offensive - especially the part about drinking booze through his finger? I had a reviewer berate me for that. Robin was the first to admit and joke about his addictions so I don't think he would be offended. Anyway, just want another honest opinion. Thanks.

I used to love Mork & Mindy. It was such a funny, innovative show for its time. My family never missed an episode, and I've often wondered why it never reruns like other old shows have, as popular as it was.

You've managed to work in a lot of Robin Williams famous lines from that series into your poem. I felt that was a nice touch.

Great tribute to a sad man. May he rest in peace...

I don't know why that don't run Mork & Mindy reruns - maybe they will now. Thank you for the kind review. No, I wasn't offended by it in the least. Then again, it is me we're talkin' about here, and hardly anything offends me, LOL...

You brilliantly captured Robin from his "Mork and Mindy" days, and made clever use of "Morkisms". I really enjoyed the cadence of this poem.

The final lines: "nanu nanu - shazbot, to you" show his humor through the funny sounding words, but also show your anger and pain at losing him too soon. Great job.

I am old enough to recognize every term you use in your genius poem here. I loved it. I loved him. Great tribute to his memory of all the fine work he did. He will surely be missed.

did you drink your booze
through your finger too?

Many of us (I'm sure, yourself included) admired this man, and will miss his bigger than life personality, humour and talent for a long time to come. I think, as humans, we search to find meaning and understanding for things that hurt... things we can't have first hand knowledge of... perhaps the two lines referencing Robin's documented struggles with alcohol reflect your desire to understand the darkness that drove him to take his life...

His wife has released a statement today, telling the world that her husband had been clean/sober for a long time, his sobriety was intact at the time of his death. She also revealed that he had recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.

I think suicide, anyone's suicide, is a complex and delicate subject. Robin Williams had such a public life that it's easy to pick out parts of his life that seem to fit our notion of the reasons one might kill themselves... but this is also a tragic and complex time for his family. We can have no true understanding of what triggered this event.

So, perhaps it is bold of me to ask - but out of respect for an actor who was loved and who put a lot of "GOOD" into the world, and for his family - I'd ask the poet to consider removing that particular reference.

Your poem is strong and well written - and I enjoyed it a lot. I honestly think those 2 lines detract from an otherwise wonderful work. I'd gladly come back to re-read and review if you'd like.

With respect,
Christina

I sorry I offended you. Robin was the first always to joke around about his addictions. I wrote my poem with love, humor and a little satire. I don't think Robin would be offended. Thank you for the review.

It's a shame he left us the way he did. I guess he thought he'd given all he had to give. I pray his family is able to deal with their grief, Buck

You certainly went back almost to the beginning of his rise in the entertainment world. the Mork and Mindy days were just about the last few years I watched TV.

He was a comic genius, no doubt about it.

This poem really has the feel of the Mork and Mindy show. You have used some of the vocabulary of the show to enhance your thoughts here. This was a well written poetic voice that I enjoyed reading... John

This is a brilliant poem about Mork and Mindy, I used to love the program back in the 70's. A fabulous actor and he entertained everybody with his brilliant sense of humor and a skilled comic.

Well done
Good luck in the contest. Mary
