Very good poem... says a lot! We were different people then, and we can never go back. Life is a oneway street. Just a collection of memories actually. We all think of the lovely days of our youth when things were bright and new... but that can't last. Except in memory. Better not to meet again in twenty or fifty years. Best to keep the memories shiny and bright. :)

Great poem you have crafted here. The entire work it well done, but for the life of me, I keep hearing the Moody Blues! That's not a bad thing, my friend. I know that anyone should be able to relate to this one and probably read it and hold their breathe for a second and just sigh. Good job.

I'll admit this one caught my eye because of the picture, which I also used recently with a poem having a somewhat similar theme. I like the nostalgic tone you set here of two people who have been close since youth and then eventually one walks away. Very nicely done!

I remember those days of going to the disco, and for me it was the beach. Those memories of pretty girls and handsome boys are often destroyed at years' later reunions. A poem that sweetly flows, like a breath of fresh air. --Elaine

A poem of our first love is a great subject, I liked this very much, the wording was great I liked the first line and the last line had " do you remember" in them, I thought your description of how it effected you really came through, well done

This poem had great imagery! I feel close to this poem because we all have been in that position. I gave you three stars because I believe some of the words are out of place. "First kiss was real awkward" The word awkward doesn't belong here in my opinion

Very sweet and first love never is forgotten. For those who met up again later in life, it is seldom with the same feelings. More often, it is like the Garth Brooks song, "Thank God for unanswered prayers." Nice work and choice of artwork.

Excellent picture to complement your poem. A first love you always remember. Most of us anyway. But she left you and that changed you very much.
