Good rhyming couplets
Very informative notes about Maude Mc.Bride who fought for the preservation of Iris culture. I find however, that it does flow like a story.

Mary;
A really well written poem that is very brilliantly educative and illuminating it is also very well written, easy to read and understand.
Mrs. McBride was truly a hero of the Irish people Along with her husband and especially her son who one of many accolades especially winning the Nobel Peace Prize.
Your imagination is truly inventive and creative while your imagery is very expressive and descriptive throughout.
Your rhyming was especially done well in neither of your rhymes were forced nor labored while your rhythm flowed smoothly throughout your poem.
Thank you for also inspired me with your author's notes which are truly helpful in establishing a background for her husband and her son.
Thank you for sharing and posting this for everyone to read and may the Lord be with you always.

Thank you for sharing your research about a brave individual new to me. Maude's portrait plus the rhymed couplets in the quatrains add to the intensity of the story. It is especially sad that she did not live to see the recognition her son received. Best wishes in the contest- Joan

Kerns and gallowglasses, broken hearts and broken heads.
Bobby Sand, was it? Another determined Irishman. Was this the Maude that went to the garden and scared up the black bat? Just rambling. Excellent.

What a lovely tribute to a deserving and historic figure.
I love poetry that reaches and teaches and at the same time is entertaining. Very good job indeed.
