That was an interesting revelation at the end. I'm pretty sure this is fiction, but I suppose a day of confessions would slip by easier with a good smoke and a stiff drink.

I have to say that you certainly saved the best for last.Lol.
I certainly wasn't expecting that.
I too have been away for awhile and although the additions
didn't appeal to me I was hoping some other creature comforts may have been added.
A comfortable chair and a soft cushion would surely help.

Unfortunately, this joke isn't a story. Beyond that, you have a few inaccuracies that hurt the presentation. No Catholic would add the word "booth". It's the Confessional. Secondly, the priest sits in the middle, not on a "side". And, of course, most confessions are face-to-face now. The Confessional is almost a thing of the past. Nice try, though. :D Nancy

Nicely told, but it's still a joke and not a story.
It's really hard to write a real story in 100 words.
But I think that's the point of the challenge.
I don't mean to single you out. I have found a real story among the entries yet.
