Hi Debra, I truly believe that if not all....most women go through this...the hormones in the body are working there way back to normal...and it takes time...I didn't want to be a lone for a short time...you feel depressed and your body goes through different stages...but it does pass...a great poem ...very well written...good luck...luff Linda xxoo

The beginning for 3. All are feeling their way through the minutes in a day. sometimes the dad's can have the energy throw that us mother's have already spent during the day and have none to give out at night. Hide, you bet, take the time for yourself cause morning is not far away.
good job

ps. the emails finally stopped repeating!

lol that's good news. I have pretty well been on this laptop since the damn thing was running itself, going over all these possibilities of What the |F|| just happened?
Vista must have got over 40 of them. She just kept on laughing and emailing me as she was ROTF.

I must've had about 40 too!

Oh no, I wonder what makes that happen cause last year it happened as well with Krys123 and lakeport, but no one else. Weird.
I should email the others and find out if it was happening with them.
Thxs for the heads up though.

I love the picture. I love the poem. Bay blues are more common than most people realize. It has a lot to do with the physical changes the mother goes through. New mother should not turn down help with the little ones. Great work.

Hi Ellie :) Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback... I was too proud to accept help the first time around, with baby's no 2&3, I took every bit of help that was offered! We live and learn :) Kindest regards as always, Debra x

Debra, The most interesting and personal piece of poetry which shows your inventiveness and true creativeness and just how resourceful you are. Good luck in the writing prompt. This shows your deep and desire emotionally and that shows that you were accountable for which may have been a saddened one but now when you look back is a glorified one. Your rhyming was exceptional in your rhythm flowed smoothly throughout your poem. Thank you for sharing and posting this and may the Lord be with you always.

Hello author you indeed have a perfect way to describe the Baby blues I know it happens why I found out the elated feeling of having a child was exciting and when you hold that sweet baby is over for some darn reason us gals get the Bay-blues

First I commend you for admitting you had a problem. Motherhood isn't easy, its a whole new experience with many demands. You poem is sad, scarey but understandable. It wasn't you hon it was your hormones, your body wondering what the hell happened. Hugs it will get better with time. Happy Mother's Day. But if you feel anger walk away or call for help. I don't know how long this Post Part em lasts. God Bless Terrie

Hi Terrie :) Thank you so much for your kind comments and Happy Mothers Day to you also :) Ben is almost 9yrs old now! The depression lasted about 3-4 months, it was a sad and lonely time even though I had the support of my family and my wonderful husband. I just felt so detached and desolate.
All good now I'm happy to report, baby's 2&3 came along and I didn't suffer with baby-blues either time :) Kindest regards, Debra :)

So emotional and powerful words for Mommy, Daddy and baby. It's so hard to review a poem so personal in nature and coming from a dark space in one's life.

I think too many people have too great expectations of a new mother, it isn't easy and has to be learned. I think there are others who will have experienced the same. I am sure you are now a super mum. It wasn't easy for me either. My kids are 37 and 39 years old and we all get on just fine. Your rhymes worked well and you made good use of language to convey your thoughts. Enjoyable read. Good luck in the contest. Faye

Hi Faye :) Thank you so much for your great feedback :) I don't know about 'super mum' but I do my best! I'm 39 and the kids are 8,6 and 3. We have a chaotic, noisy and fun time! Kindest regards, Debra :)

You are not alone in this, Debra, many suffer that way, and feel utterly useless. I am really pleased it ended well for you. That picture certainly conjured up a very lonely time for you. Good luck in the contest! :) Sandra

Hi Sandra :) Thank you for your lovely feedback. Yes, it was a tough time, something I never expected to experience. I'd wanted to be a mummy for so long, I couldn't understand why I felt so detached and lonely... scared and useless also pretty accurate words to describe how I felt. It lasted about 3-4 months and then everything seemed to fall into place :) All good now though, as you know! Kindest regards as always, love Debra xx
