This poem is very nice, but it's a little hard to understand. Maybe I'm just too young to understand it fully, but that is my input.

If you are old enough, be sure to vote. Our government is supposed to be by the people, for the people, but it doesn't work that way when the people don't bother to vote.

Ah! Nicely said. We've all heard it thousands of times... Someone doesn't like the politician, but wasn't involved in the voting process.

Good job on this, my friend. It made me smile widely.

You have said it in so few words. If you don't vote you have no right to complain about the results. Very good write. Thanks for sharing. Bob

This is a nicely written senryu Debbie, a very clever one with an underlying ambiguity to it. How can you complain about the government you get if you don't vote! Well said Debbie, blessings, Roy.

I agree dejohnsrld (Debbie
Not voting will solve the problems of our government and as you said in so few lines- how those who don't vote will be the ones who complain

I've been saying this for years - it riles me to hear non-voters complaining about the victors and the way the government is being run
Your poem is in good senryu form and I love the play on words with election dysfunction LOL
