An excellent end of the chapter. Rather long but very complete. YOu do know who your friends are very quickly. Quite an interresting piece of writing, loved your parts about your close friends and their support and how the pastor told you he did not have time to mow.lol

Thanks Barb appreciate your review.

A very well-written chapter. Sometimes it is better to have no friends or just the ones you know are really your friends. My late husband was very against the idea of making fellow church goers your house friends. He was proven right more than once, and I never make friends too closely with my fellow brothers and sisters, they are always welcome to visit, and I will visit them, but never overdo it.

Hello Geoff,
Remember, I was a (cyber) friend who wanted to come to your home ...
Life is harsh sometimes. We are called to love our neighbor. It's sad that this is not always the case within the body of Christ.
God bless, you. Have a blessed, merry Christmas.
My love to Louise.

I found this to be an absorbing read, even though, at first I did not think it would be!
Your views on friendship and fellowship, I think are what many, many people have come to experience over time. Modern life especially tends not to lend itself to this. technology meant to free up time actually has the opposite effect.
But these kind of superficial getting together are almost pointless. when the going gets tough, you know the rest.
I have 2 close friends. One since I have known since I was 4, and another I met at University in my late teens. Do anything for!
Anyway, apart from the sentiments, I found this very engaging and well written.
Good luck, and all the best

Thanks very much. I only added a few more paragraphs to this since I wrote it some time ago. I wanted to include all the help I have had from FS folks and my online community. There will be a complete book promotion in the New year.Don't think we have met before will look for your stuff and reciprocate as soon as possible. Merry Christmas.

Bro, I find your life very interesting and understand disappointment people can be at times. Remember, they too are going through spiritual battles , perhaps and it is God who gives you the wisdom to see the problem. They have no idea what is going on to remove them from associating but do. Our job as Christ demands is prayer for each other daily no matter if we can see the results or not. One time, a minister was preaching and God stopped him in the middle of the sermon. He walked to where a person was sitting and reached for his hand and the man gave it to him not knowing what was going on. The minister said , "I forgive you." The man broke down like a shotgun and wept giving his life to Christ. You never know how God is working on the others, but just that He is. My blessings to you

Sankey, it is nice to know how much you value your friendship. It is but natural for you to find it difficult to accept changes in your friends and more so when they compromise their values which you had shared with them. As regards numbers, I too consider quality is of paramount consideration in friendship. So I do not believe in friendship forged in Face Book merely by clicking the mouse. How can this be called friendship, I wonder.

Thanks for coming by, friend. How true that is. People rather the Photo" opportunity for friendship than REAL up close and personal stuff. Man I could talk on this subject for a long time. I am on Face book if interested. of course FB is where I found Fan Story as we probably all did. Look for Geoffrey Moore that attended Ryde High School in Australia or send me your FB name if you like by PM. I left Face Book for 18 months been back about a year now but I never added a heap of people since I came back.Face book friendships are mostly about as good as the cuppa at the fellowship centre :(

An interesting chapter on Friendship in the "Me" generation.
A few suggestions to take or leave:
So, as stated above, [I would leave this out, Geoff. It's not needed and you said in the previous sentence "all in March as stated earlier."]
with one another [You don't need this since it's understood by the first part of that sentence.]
Good stuff, Geoff.

Friendship is not truly known until you have a chance to test the waters. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

Thanks mate. Funny thing is some of these things I recently added came to my knowledge many many years after being very close friends with a lot of these! Very disappointing.

I really enjoyed this chapter, Geoff, I must admit the first fellowship we belonged to was almost everything that I desired in a fellowship, but everything went south after that, but God taught me, the commandment was for me to love others, not the other way around, and The Lord knows, I fall short! But I identify with everything you speak of in your episode, but I perceive you and your dear wife are great assets to the kingdom, I'm richer for knowing folk like you, great episode! Blessings, Roy

thanks Bro Roy. Marsfield church where I started was a lovely friendly loving place. We supported Missions and wer had a lively Sunday School for many years. I need to add some more of this to the book. (In the earlier chapters of course) Funny how when I go to comment on reviews even more comes to mind. Sadly old Marsy was a bit lacking in good deep teaching unfortunately. Thanks again. God Bless.

This is well written and I saw no errors. Friendships are an interesting experience for all of us through life. Some of my dearest memories are about events that occurred around friends and some of my deepest hurts from friend betrayal.
