It was good to read your part biography, but also giving your particular slant on believable and consistent doctrine, the baptism is more concerned with burial and death of the sin, of the "old man", and the raising of the "new man" by faith, but not salvation, it's more passing from Egypt (the old sinful life)and the cutting off of the old life and all it's association, and the beginning of the new! Its not essential for salvation! It's difficult to explain, the Eucharist is hard to make clear! I hate the emblemic doctrine! More consubstantiation! I enjoyed reading your doctrinal analysis, well done, I agree with you, difficult to explain! Good write, bro, blessings, Roy.

On this review, it seems to me that the first paragraph would be smoother, if you broke it into a few sentences.
Example:
"The very first church I was a part of was Marsfield Mission. (Now known for a number of years as "Marsfield Community Church) I was a beginner in Sunday school at age three or four. Later my Mum started going, when I was eight-years-old. This church recently celebrated its 80th Anniversary,"
"During my time at 'Marsy'(,)" I think you need a comma before the following inserted thought. "as the church was affectionately known,"
Love the picture and it reminds me of the clothing my family wore to church. We went to camps too but I can't honestly say that I like them.
I agree that God isn't a building and that no group has a monopoly on him. If we allow ourselves to believe like that we are limiting him to our standards.

There is a lot of meat to chew on in this chapter. I love the way you have delivered your beliefs and explained them and the addition of scripture to back it up. I can understand your feelings about the lack of true fellowship. Now that my children are almost all born-again Christians I'm finding that when we get together we talk about the scriptures and what God is showing us all the time. It is a pity that people (like me) get so caught up with the extended family, some needing more of my time than others that it can be difficult to spend time with others that also need comfort and fellowship. I apologise for that on my behalf and others. I remember when my children were young that I was very wrapped up in my family and missed what was going on in the lives of others sometimes. I don't know if this is acceptable reviewing but just my comments. I liked the chapter very much.

Thanks for the review. No worries I appreciate your comments. Sadly it is too late for the wrongs of the past forgiveness has been hammered on in the church for some time but I don't know who he is directing the need at, to forgive. to be corrected. I am trying to get going on the new chapter 18 atm needs a bit more "meat" hehe.

Great write, sadly though any will to see, yes many follow the Catholicism teachings, baptism in not a child 6 weeks old, baptism is being baptised into Christ at the age of knowledge as the word says tree is only one baptism re- birth, so baptising babies is not true baptism, what people don't know or don't want to now, is satan is the ruler of this fallen world not GOD, I have not heard f your church, but that doesn't mean a thing, just that I am not from our area, my friend, I am a student self taught apologetic defender if the truth, good luck with your ok my friend, blessings, ueellen

This is an interesting post from the author. I have had dealings with Non-Denominational church services before. I was in the British Army, and the Padre gave services to all Christians in the same service.

this is very well written, sankey, you did an excellent job writing this essay about the churches you have been involved with in the past and present. i was shocked when our pastor told about a church in australia that was offering "Come to our church. You won't hear a sermon or hear the gospel. We have free beer and fellowship." I am independent baptist. our pastor will be the only pastor of this church this month makes 40 years. he has pastored for 58 years and turns 80 this month soon after the church turns 40. i spotted a couple of typos,==said it would be okay instead of siad it would be okay, paid instead of psad.

Hi there we just had our 41st anniversary. I am the second longest member of the church. The local Union Baptist Pastor some time ago wanted a poster with "Sin" on it taken down in his Foyer Sigh! I would be interested to know what church that was I wouldn't put it past some of the local ones to do that sort of thing. The Union Baptist college in our State was the one teaching that Christ was not Virgin born some years ago.
Thanks for your review nice to meet you. I did get a reviewer last night who did not like me talking about different baptisms and so on ho hum. They gave me a good review though! I run a couple of web sites our church one is www.nepeanbaptist.org and my own is www.funnymentalist.net

Although this is a fairly long chapter, the writer does a good job of keeping the attention of the reader. The writer transitions the events well. The chapter is well balanced as the pace intensifies as the chapter goes on. I see nothing that I would change in this chapter.

Hi friend I was seriously thinking of adding some more but splitting the chapter. Might leave it for now. Thanks for the review.

Sadly some churches get more concerned with bringing correction to other churches than they do fulfilling the great commission. Not sure that arguing over the proper way to baptize proclaims the good news that Jesus saves.

Thanks for the Great review. Trouble is some church say they believe in salvation by Grace PLUS the Sacraments and Traditions...which of course adds to the Gospel of Grace. We had a guy come visit at our church some time ago and he was so shocked at all our hymns with BLOOD in them. For example that great old one "What can wash away my sin NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS!" man seems to want to be a part of his own salvation which makes the Blood of Christ of little effect. Ok off the soap box appreciate you coming by.

There are those who teach that Baptism is necessary to Salvation (Church of Christ and so on) "Baptismal Regeneration" doctrine but then I say how about the Thief on the Cross when Christ said "This day shalt thou be with me in Paradise" Weren't no water to baptise the repentant thief huh!
I had to start with this. I love a full proof argument that can't be disputed in any way. ha! I enjoyed this greatly having always been interested in religions and comparing them. I am pretty much in agreement with you on almost everything you say. I recall from my days as a business owner that if a man told you that he was a Chistian and that there was no need to worry about a check that the check was sure to bounce. if it was a minister it was closer to 100 percent! this is probably too long for most on the site. not for me though I found it a good break from all the posting reviewing etc. all in all I like this a lot and moves smoothly along. the style is perfect and the tangents never take us too far or gets us confused. very conversational in feel which is inviting. best regards, mike

Thanks mater did you miss the recent photo I just now put on?
Gotta tell ya some have said too long and other have said more info ion Louise etc...sometimes I think it is the same ones that say too long hehe. One thing I did not add was when Louise asked her (Catholic) Mother about other religions and Mother said...No No the Catholic church is the only one. But mate God was already working in Louise's heart that she had not found what she was looking for in the church of Rome. Being a bit deaf she fortunately missed out on a lot of the dogma's and so on. Thanks for being a good friend in FS. Do you think a split in the chapter might be good? I told someone else when I was editing it seems to mess up between Advanced Edit and ordinary edit some times.

A fine piece you've written there.
There is minor mistake though:
which recently celebrated it's 80th Anniversary.- change "it's" to "its"

Ok thanks you are probably right. I get the it's and its thing wrong a lot. Appreciate the review. Could you see any squiggles or anything from Advanced formatting? I did and I tried to clean them up??
-
Nope, didn't see any:)
-
Thanks I dunno what was going on they didn't show upon the Registered copy either only in edit. Thanks for checking
-
I get what you mean...sometimes when everything just seems so wrong. I type and save. All the words then become weirdass stuff..
-
Real job sorting between Advanced edit and normal Grrr I just added a more recent photo of us at our church.
