Hi Jill,
I am delighted that this little poem took you for a delectable happy stroll down memory lane.
I would bypass all the candy for a raspberry white chocolate truffle from a tiny patisserie on the left bank but that's why there is chocolate, vanilla and strawberry!
When it comes to chocolate....seduced
So glad that you enjoyed this walk on the lighter yummiest side. After so many seriously toned poems, I was ready for something easy on the brain.....
feels even more satisfying than it sounds!!

I can feel the arteries hardening and the blood sugar rushing to blush. Lick for lick, approaching the centre - now that's a conversation starter. Something tells me this trip to Willie Wonka's is not intended for oompa loompa's or kids.

Ed,
Only you and my mom, would see temptation,of an illicit kind,in this little poem. I can hardly blame you considering that "weighing candy options" is written by the author of "seduced, "his hands" and "be my bad boy", etc. This trip to willy wonka's paradise is truly approved for oompa loompa's and kids of all ages!
Not turning over a new leaf, just having some good sweet fun after so many seriously-toned poems. Bon appetit and enjoy....
Peace, hugs and lots of smiles,
Jill

'Weighing Candy Options.' A lovely poem you have created here. Yes, even that brings back many memories about being in the Greek's corner shop where one keep the shopkeeper busy while the other fill their pockets. Well done.

Hi chasennov,
I am delighted that this little poem took you for a delectable happy stroll down memory lane. I loved hearing about the candy "heists" in the Greek's corner shop!
I would bypass all the above candies for a raspberry white chocolate truffle from a tiny patisserie on the left bank but that's why there is chocolate, vanilla and strawberry!

Well that made my sugar count go sky high...just looking at the picture makes me drool. Words flowed well. Cute little verse. I know I've been there trying to make the same decisions, weighing the fat and calories in ratio to the size. Great artwork used. Thank you for sharing.

Oh please. Licorice never holds a candle to gummy bears. Haha! This sweet little poem brought back fond memories for me as well. (By the way, it takes 117 licks to get to the center. Haha!)

This poem speaks of your childhood memory with candies and it reminded me of my memories too, although is quite different,
because we, the children of 3rd world countries are not privileged to have pleasures like yours. Our candies are usually home made by our mothers but the our joy and excitement are the same as captured in your poem. God bless, I enjoyed this poem.

A poem so sweet it makes my teeth hurt. I well remember the candy counter decisions of my childhood. A whole nickle to spend...one big piece, or five smaller ones? Decisions, decisions! :) Nancy

A delightfully playful poetic indulgence into the mind of a kid in a candy store. The nostalgic feel of the old soda fountain reminds me of my own childhood. Such delectable choices fill the page with memories galore!
