Most anxiety seems to be tied to indecision. It is bad enough when it is your on. It is even worse when it is indecision in someone else. I feel your pain. This is a very good read; so, thanks for sharing. Your friend, Bob

You absolutely have it nailed, Bob - indecision DOES cause HUGE anxiety. And I've been through a lot of that in my life. (Who hasn't, hmm?) No worries, though, I'm just trying this one for size, dear. Hubby's still in one piece! :)))

This starts out as a poem of enjoying nature, so I was a bit surprised when it turned to one of personal pain and loss. Still, it has a certain "promise" about it that I liked. :)

Today, instead of scribbling about sunlight, I'll loiter
in a gold pool of it ... this is a lovely opening and Vintage Visionary!
Love the internal rhyme and the scintillating sparkles of alliteration running like a thread all through.
I think she's more excited than sad ... what could be awaiting the lass at the bend in the road ... hmmm??
p.s. just noticed your quote - Oscar Wilde - really? He was a major girlhood crush of mine ... oh Twinnie-twin dear ... :)

Thx Twinnie - yep - loved Oscar Wilde - even did a special "London Walks" just to go find all his old haunts - and used to do excerpts, of course, from "Earnest" for my Speech & Drama exams. Love his wit, which, to me, doesn't fade. We are such smarties, aren't we? :)))
-
Not Ernest and Cecily?? Hubby and I did the diary/engagement scene at a church talent show many moons ago - standing ovation! (Very few had heard of poor Oscar, btw - the present generation ... so sad!)
How do you feel about Shaw ... another huge crush of mine... Eliza in Pygmalion "done me in"!
Did Cecily for my Grade 7 or 8 exam, I think. Recall wanting to do the Duchess of Berwick and was told by my teacher that I was too diminutive in stature :)... ooh, the literary DNA we share ... :)
-
I went for the big guns - Lady Bracknell - a handbag? in a RAILWAY station??? oh you would have been a PERFECT Cecily! Shaw I found MUCH less accessible but love to watch him performed ... and of course, love Eliza and used to sing "Just You Wait!"
-
Oh, I LOVE it! A handbag? In a RAILWAY STATION? ... Did you carry a fan and glare through a lorgnette?? I can imagine the panache with which you executed the old dear.
How about William (and the Outlaws) and Billy/Bessie Bunter? :) I still have those hardcover Richmal Compton books I read in the 70s - had them shipped out to Canada.

Ah, how rejuvenations the sun, a dose of vitamin D that soothes the spirit as it feeds the body.
To seed my heart, sore in need of nourishment and constancy
When the numbness tingles, it is usually provoked by movement, in this case hopefully forward.

Hi Sharyn,
well you transported me to warmth and carefree moment of your time ... Your calmness provided solace, yet there was a reflective interlude that provided the freedom of thought ... Got to get me some of that sun! This was a truly an exquisite write that deserves more than I can give, so for that I am sorry, but I did enjoy the journey ... Thank you.
Kindest thoughts,
James xx

A great poem. Very dramatic! I hope this isn't a true story, but if it is it seems the person is handling it well, and feeling free and ready to continue life. Sara :)

That's right. Stay in the basking light of
Glory! You see nature and joy, like a person
Running from the darkness. And I like that!
For, in and inadvertant way, when you praise
Nature, and happines, you show God you gratitude.
Keep on writing.

I like where you've gone here. First in seems a writer, just stepping away to recharge and then you reveal much more. 'In. Out. Tick. Tock. In shock' marks the passage of time. And then that Zinger at the end, finally free? Nice.
