To visionary1234,
A poem that describes the value that you place upon this day as you mourn the loss of your mother but celebrate in the newness of life she has with Christ Jesus.

thx so much Charlene! Actually my mother is alive and kicking just fine, but I feel this way about my dad. He's with me always. :) Sharyn

Hi Sharyn,
This one brought tears to my eyes. Such a deeply powerful work to read. I am a bit lost for words - profound inner knowing and love ...make it last forever.
Thanks for sharing it.

Bless you Bob - this is actually a photo of an old cemetery in Hilo, on the Big Island - but it had the golden greens and sun I wanted. Blessings, as always,
Sharyn :)

A very poignant poem for mothers day, particularly for those of us whose mothers are no longer with us.
I believe they are always with us, and can hear us, and feel our pain when we hurt, or our joys when we are happy.
Thank you for sharing Sharyn.

I'm so glad you believe they're always with us, Ann. My own mother is actually still alive, but I feel this way about my father, who died over 20 years ago. I still miss him.

In our hearts we can see and feel our moms who have departed. Our inner thoughts comes alive when we visit their graves. There is not need to say a word and sometimes just a smile can say how much we missed and appreciated them.
Good write and well penned for Mother's day.
Cheerio, Ritchie.

Welcome Sharyn.
Indie Skreet is now in the shadows and Ray is gone for good. Sad day for me.
You have a great evening and be happy.
Cheerio, hugs, Ritchie.
-
I can't believe that either of them is REALLY gone Ritchie! I'm hoping not!
-
Me too. They are such a joy.
Ray would always joke with me in his replies while Indie, she's always there to lend a hand for others.
She always smiles when I mentioned your name as a joke (no apologies, my dear) and she even posted a poem in her message to pull my leg and yours too and I went for it, LOL.
Good times rolls and folds like the tide.
Cheerio, not so happy now, Ritchie. :(

A very nice Mothers Day tribute, to all those mothers, everywhere, both nice and naughty. I liked mine. After my dad died at 57 she showed some steel-of-spine that surprised me a bit. She had never driven, and the day after the funeral she asked me to take her out and teach her to drive. That was the beginning.
As you know, my preference is for rhymed poetry, but you have such a nice, light touch, and I don't have to puzzle over what is is that you're saying. I appreciate that.

I remember your writing about your mom's new lease on life Dave - mine sort of did that too. She was very reliant on my father for company, but when he died, she developed a while new collection of interests and developed her own friends. I'd not expected that. Glad you enjoyed this piece, despite its lack of formal rhyme & rhythm - I always TRY to make my free verse have a continuous thought thread running through it, so it makes sense - so glad it did to you!

Oh, Sharyn, this is exquisite. I just love this new angle on mothers who have passed.
Yes, I believe our loved ones can see, hear and feel us from Heaven (or whatever you want to call the afterlife.)
I've talked to my dead relatives through a medium and, although I can never be certain the info wasn't from her imagination, I got some interesting information on what life is like from the other side. Hugs, Lou

Well Done ~ Sharyn
This poetry is a beautiful tribute and reminder of
Mother's who have transitioned. It makes the reader
pause and think about the son or daughter whose
Mother is no longer alive on this Mother's Day. The
attached photo is a huge mirror that reflects the
message. Thank You for your creation.

Highly interesting tribute to the memories of mothers lost. Picture selection and color scheme give it an old country Irish vibe. Thanks for sharing. Happy Mother's Day!

Actually it's a cemetery in Hilo, on the Big Island of Hawaii Dave ... but you've got the gist - I wanted that green/gold/afternoon light ...
thank you so much!
