I hate the fact that Ray is leaving the site. Like you, he has been a big help to me. He is a character, and that's one of the reasons we love him. I will miss him. Wish we could convince him to stay.

I read only a few of his poem and I sorry I miss so many. I'm trying to read as many as I can before his page become blank.
Yes he has a gift to write about anything and so how make you think because ever thought they could be on a serious note. he had a way to make you think and think they were funny.

So here we go losing another excellent poet because people just can't live and let live. He has helped me master the sonnet and I think we are losing an excellent teacher.
He always treated me with respect and was kind and patient. I will miss his helpful reviews and his wit. I am very sad. Nancy

I wish I had a sixer left for you, as I like to award them to complimentary writes about me, even if the meter sucks! LMAO!

As usual, you have parts in good meter and others not.

Your 2nd last verse is nearly there, with just an extra syllable in the final line.

Here's how the da-DUMS would flow better:

so-FARE-thee-WELL-my-TIT-led-MATE
and-DON'T-for-GET-to-CLOSE-the-GATE
that-WAS-a-JOKE-as-YOU-will-KNOW
i-CANN-ot-STAND-to-SEE-you-GO

I haven't time to correct the rest of the poem's meter, as I have an urgent appointment in six weeks. Haha!

I don't like the idea of him leaving either. I appreciate your sincerity to Ray in this poem. He is a character, there ain't no denying :) He's a good member of this site and I have a lot to learn from his poetry. I will miss him. Wish there was a way to convince him to stay.
