Thanks for reading and the virtual six. I appreciate both. I've been of FS long enough to know better than post at the end of the week! Regards, Bill

Verrry enjoyable read. You have a graet down-to-earth way of writing that makes the story seem real, as if I'm right there watching the characters.
I was going to kick my brother, John's butt. << Remove the comma.

I could easily put myself in your chapter. I have spent more than one night on my Grandma's farm and I remember waking up to the sounds you describe quite well. This seemed like it could be a chapter from my childhood... sorta. Since I'm a girl and all, and from WV. AND from Amish country, so I've never been to a church like you describe. But it sounds like one I would like! ;)
You gotta watch out for those preachers. They sure know how to step on toes. Mine was doing that just last week....
Great work! I enjoyed reading it!

Thank you very much for reading and your kind comments. I play golf with my preacher, so I can even utter a cuss word now and then. Bill

This is such a good story. I really enjoy it. It is very well written and flow nicely. "Different audience, but the same old stories." Love this line. Laughed when the preacher pointed at Rabbit and he jumped up and said "Yes". Could really picture that. Keep on writing, you are doing a great job.

Okay Shirley - don't tell your husband. I'm sending another virtual hug your way (and maybe a small air kiss). LOL Bill

Hi, bhogg,
Yet another delightfully atmospheric post.
The gentle fable-flavored education if Rabbit.
Love Virgil's character, his dialogue is engaging and full of personality.
The marshmallow and brownies comment made me smile.
And the relationship between Rabbit and his nan is so warm and honest.
Thoroughly enjoyable read.

You might have been small, but you sure had spirit, Bill. Your sense of justice outweighed your sense of self-preservation. Well written. :) Nancy

Bill, this is my favorite chapter so far. I love the fight scene - I recall being on the bottom more times than not and you describe each movement with great detail. The love between Virge and Rabbit is just so awesome. Such a beautiful man that Virge is. Not too many people get the benefit of having so many wise elders around as Rabbit did. Bravo on a superb chapter. And congrats on your BOM recognition. Warm regards, Bev

I love this story, bhogg. It's really neat that this older fellow and Rabbit are good friends. There should be more friendship between the older and younger people. However, anymore it seems like we suffer from paranoia and lack of respect for each other. Hopefully, these two brothers will find some they like about each other. Thank you for sharing this story with us.
