I love the poem. You have winter covering the earth with white. It hides the grey. The white makes other colors stand out better. Like the star light at night. Great work.

I enjoyed reading your poem. It is well written and it flows well. It tells a complete story and good alliteration of m words.

A fine, well-written winter personification;
I especially like "Joy covers me like a blanket"--nice simile utilized in this line;
Lovely consonance of "l" in "Black velvet and starlight", also in "glittered alabaster";
I so enjoyed your contest entry.

There is some stunning imagery in this poem - "Joy covers me like a blanket made of diamonds" - lovely picture here. This should do well in the contest.

The second verse won me over. The description of the night sky and the glittering alabaster earth wee images I could fall asleep thinking about. Very calming and beautiful. I liked the contrast of the two stanzas. This was a very nice poem.

This is well done as if being the winter season. You cover the ugliness of winter to the prettiness of winter. It is true that the winter season can be seen as bleak and gray, but your poem speaks of the season also being a blanket of diamonds with a black velvet sky. I enjoyed reading your poem.

This time of year we see a lot of seasonal depression. Your words capture it well. But they also admonish to learn a lesson from nature and know joy as well. Most everyone is familiar with Psalm 23 such a beautiful song of thanksgiving and praise. Yet Psalm 22 comes from an anguished soul and was even quoted by Jesus on the cross (My God, my God, why has thou forsaken me?). I think we all have both Psalm 22 and Psalm 23 days. You have done well in writing this and I wish you the best in the contest.

This is such a beautifully written poem. It well describes your season, which I think is spring, but may not be. Great use of personification to bring it to life and your imagery makes the picture clear:)
