''Sometimes a cucumber is just a cucumber.'' - Sigmund Freud
Or maybe it was Jonathan Shaw who said that. Either way, the point is, while curiosity is an important ingredient in human evolution, it's best employed with an open mind and a child's heart.
There are certain questions best left unanswered by the linear logic and cold analytical ego-process of the left-brain critic. Some things are best left to the poet, the child, the madman, the fool. Pulling the wings off butterflies to study their aerodynamic properties are not among those things. Got it?
Cheers

This poem packs some bite along with posing a question: is a writer's wisdom related to her wisdom teeth?
Most likely they bring no meaning to words, unless they need to be pulled. Then the words are most likely pained.
Cheers,
DW

Hi Joann,
First reading I loved it. And was about to rate a five with a few words about the houghty wisdom you imparted.
Then, realizing I wasn't sure exactly what you said, I read it again, and was confused. Suddenly, I didn't really understand the poem at all... which gave me another chuckle, more at me than at the poem. At that point I was going to throw you a four star and say, 'Huh?!'
But, resolving to trust you (and the genius of my first impression - which understood you were referring to 'harsh' reviews from fellow writers who use their 'teeth' to draw blood from you.) I decided to pull my teeth in and throw you the original five.
Not sure if it's wisdom, but there's no metallic taste in my mouth... this time.

Can't help you much there. Mine were impacted, so I had 'em all out. Since then my scribblings and utterances have been notably lacking in tact. No career in the diplomatic corps for me!

Thank you so much for the review, I love teeth. Kept all of my children's baby ones. My husband has one of his ex girlfriends, pulled from the root, without novacaine!
