A terrific thought-provoking thought my friend. The answer should be that we the people have the power, but in reality those with money have great influence. We do all have our own garden to do with as we please and maybe ask another to join us. Written with much feeling!!! Debbie

Yes, I can see that this poem would suit a rendition in rap song. I like your internal rhyme... just enough to make me keep reading. Election times are always frustrating because you get the awfulr feeling that you're dammed if you do and you're dammed if you don't. Giddy

I do not know whether to laugh or cry. We just got slammed by Hurricane Isaac this week. Millions and millions have been spent in this area on storm protection. This week surely showed us man's efforts don't calm the storm but merely redirects the path. And yes, both Obama and Romney have been here to "review" Isaac's work.

Well fantastic poem. I really like the way you took it at the beginning, feeling angry and hopeless, to at the end saying only we can change it. Very hopeful. Good job!

Thank you so much Crystal! I never believe in writing depressing poetry - always offer a solution - otherwise we'd all just slash our wrists, yes? A special thank you for your magic '6' on this one - I so appreciate it!

This was a fun Slam Poem to read. You have a great talent of "tellin it like it is". I liked how you changed the tone and mood in the poem. Some nice alliteration which always make it flow smoother. I wish we could hear you read it. What fun that would be. Very nicely done.

Best always,
Janet

Hey there Sharyn
For such a cute little shit, you are tougher than a hard boiled owl. Your word usage astounds me. You gots words in here that are above my pay grade. I tried it as ANGRY rap, it sounded just as bad. This is clever

You're so funny Big Bear! I can be shitty sometimes, I must admit - but "hard boiled OWL?" Now you TOTALLY crack my egg! Angry rap can be good can't it, just so long as it's GOOD "rap" and not CRAP rap!!! ??? :))))))))))

What an effective poem! Venting out all anger and rage, then putting in seeds of good wisdom at the end. Hopefully, poeple get it in their heads, finally...but even if a couple of people do, it's worth it, right?

An excellent script for a slam-bam give a damn speel about what's going on in this world. I found myself visualizing you on stage and enjoying, with amazement, what I was hearing you rail about. Things are in a helluva mess and you are letting them know what you think about it. Bob
