And you succeeded! This poem says what (ALMOST) every mother feels. Watching a child, specifically a son, grow into an adult is both joyful and sad...

I truly enjoyed your poem. In very few words, you were able to tell us so much about your son and also let us see how much you've cherished watching him grow. I have a 5 year old son and I am constantly amazed at how fast it's all going by. Your poem reminds me to cherish every moment. This was lovely. Thank you for sharing. :)

I have a son who is grown now, and it was amazing to watch him grow from a baby to a tall man. When this is read, the reader thinks of a son. I liked the imagery of a kind man growing tall. It's an enjoyable piece that brings back memories.

Spot on with both the syllable count as well as the mother pride! A beautiful theme indeed. How wonderful the way in which our children change us to become the caring and nurturing human beings we were meant to be. And what a very special bond there is between a mother and her son. How blessed you are to bond in such a special way! Well done with your lovely poem! Warm regards, Stella

You have made good use of every syllable to express your wise hopes for your son to be--not rich and powerful, but kind and humble. very good

I love the way you've described your son by describing how he has grown up and life has flown so fast, then describing his physical charateristics as well as good personality. Great work.

This is a beautiful tribute to your son. Such few, but concise words are chosen to express his being and how much he means to you. Wonderful work, here. Holly

Life moves so swiftly,
growing tall, speaking deeply,
Humble,kind, my son.
This Haiku touches me deeply. I had a son like that. Your poem, in a few chosen words, bespeaks of the miracle and also incomprehension of life - so swift. One minute, he's a baby, the next, tall, voice of a man. When I read this poem, my son, your son, I suppose every mother's son is captured here. Thank you for sharing this 'aha' moment, as they define a true Haiku. Blessings, Liilia
