Thank you for the lesson gypsies. I enjoyed it. I am wondering what is going to happen to James' father. I am wondering if we haven't gotten a little off track.

No, we are right on track. All this is leading to Dad and the justice James is looking for. I am pleased you liked this one.

Ah, so that's what the
mokkadi code is - all
those rules are mind-
boggling.. I too would
need a list.
You've certainly done your homework, Sasha.
I'm most impressed with how you explained it all.
the table(,) anxiously
Of course(,) dear,
Margaret

Hi Valerie:)
What a treat to see another post arrive so soon. This was a great lesson in Gypsy lore and customs.
I noticed only some minor errors in this sentence: Roma, which in the Romani language means [''people --> 'people'}, [originate ==> originates] from northern India. {Two minor errors: I'm not certain of te correct way to show the word 'people'. Perhaps it needs to be italicized.}
Unusual customs can be hard to live with, but I'm sure these friends will learn quickly.
Love and Irish Hugs,
Roger

Grandmother seems to have gone back to her old ways which is common trend in the lives of the elderly. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words.

I really like Angela, such a compassionate woman and sincerely eager to help Alfina. Many women would just be offended and feel disrespected in their own homes :-) Brooke

This was a great read and very informative about certain aspects of Roma. I'm half-Irish, half Rom on my mother's side and have written a good deal about the subject myself. In fact the protagonist of my novel, Narcisa, is a Brazilian Gypsy ex-con named 'Cigano', which means 'Gypsy' in Portuguese. There's some mention of his background in the first few chapters on my portfolio, should you care to give it a look. In fact, I'm gonna go and stick a new certificate on the whole book right now, just in case you'd like to do some reviewing yourself.
Good luck with your writing. This one was very good.
cheers

Not really...I've spent a lot of time researching and keeping notes. My memory is great for long term things but not stuff like this. I am pleased you found this interesting.

Well, the cultural differences have caused many problems among many nationalities for centuries...if we could all just try to understand the importance of the others beliefs and see if they can be worked around. God bless.

The Romani have tried to do just that. Over the years they have adapted their laws and rituals to work better with the ways of outsiders/gajes.
